Alkenstar is noted to have several alchemical universities, and counts alchemists (in addition to engineers and gunslingers) as having prominent roles. But it is in an area where the two magical options are antimagic field or primal magic. I know that the majority of the achemists abilities don't work in antimagic/dead magic zones, but what interaction does it have with primal magic? Alchemists also can't learn Suppress Primal Magic.
So do the alchemists abilities ignore primal magic? Or alternatively, have I been looking at this too hard and they're referring to people with high Craft: Alchemy, rather than the Alchemist class? Is there something else I'm missing?

Alchemists CAN actually suppress primal magic now, thanks to the Blightbreaker archetype from Healer's Handbook.
Event hen, I'm not sure Alchemist abilities trigger primal magic. Primal magic is triggered by casting a spell, using a SLA, or using a spell-trigger/spell completion item. Potions are neither of those, and since extracts behave like potions in a lot of ways, I'd be willing to say they don't trigger primal magic.
Of course, I could be very wrong.
