Sovereign Court

In a recent thread someone mentioned about how the Lycanthropy Oracle curse is a way to gain access to the Aspect of the Beast feat to gain claws.

Dual Cursing to take the Wolfscarred Face is a very thematic addition.

I like this idea. Can I get some ideas from the gen pop here to make a very solid build? I have put together something through Hero Lab (which incidentally does not see the curse as filling the prerequisite, but that is easy to over ride) but it seems underwhelming.

I have initially taken 1/2 orc with sacred tattoo + fate's favored. This also seems very thematically apt to me.

anyone?

The Lunar mistery has some strong flavour e some really solid revelation that might match well with your theme, try check it.

I've played one lunar oracle with a wolf companion till lvl 12, focusing mostrly on melee. Not the highest dps, still a solid melee character, with good AC and versatility

Sovereign Court

Yes, that is the mystery I chose.

I think that the attacks are solid but not excessive.

with equipment and feats engaged

bite
+16 3d6+16

claws
+16/+16 1d8+16

Large Wolf companion

180' darkvision, the ability to see in all darkness next level (11th)
fortune 2/day
prophetic armor to replace dex with cha for reflex saves and AC

+2 amulet mighty fist
+2 mithril armored coat
headband +4 cha

still have 21k to spend

look for improved spell sharing, on the teamwork feat, for you and your pet. You can really boost him with divine power, righteus might and similar spell.

you'll never be the main damage dealer

This doesn't work unless you have a way to grant your teamwork feats to your companion.

Improved Share Spells does work but you need to be level 10 for it.

Animal companion cannot take a teamwork feat normally when it can choose a feat?

The PC will be a 10th level build. I alluded to that when I mentioned that my next level is 11th, so if that makes a difference....

The trouble with dual-cursed wolfscarred/lycanthropy is that you are suffering the 20% spell failure chance. You could go with wolfscarred/deaf to avoid that and pick up claws as a tiefling instead. You are liable to see variation on whether or not the lycanthropy curse is sufficient for aspect of the beast.

Verdant Wheel

Andreww is very correct on that last point, and the 20% is a pain, yeah.

Animal Companions should be able to take any feat it's physically capable of using, so long as it has high enough Int.

If you have both Claws and Bite, you can also get Multiattack, which is fun.

Try to pick up Silent Spell if you don't want to be deaf (personally I think being deaf would be sorta inappropriate to a lupine character).

It is a home game, not PFS, so can probably get it approved. Hero Lab does not grant access, but it is a corner case so not surprised.

the 20% is something I was not thinking about....

Improved Spell Sharing has as one of its prerequisites "ability to acquire an animal companion,, eidolon, familiar or mount", it cannot be taken by your companion so you need a way to give them the feat. It works for hunters and inquisitors and maybe some of the familiar granting archetypes but otherwise you need to use improved spell sharing.

You can make it work with a Horsemaster's Saddle but they cost 12000gp.
