Heyhey! I'm a freelance illustrator needing something to spend the next few hours doing. So, if you want, I can draw your character. I'm fairly new to pathfinder myself, but I'd love to learn more.

So, if you'd like a drawing, please post a description of your character, as well as a piece of advice for someone trying to get better at this whole thing.

PS: my favourite class is wizard (I play one myself!), so generally, those are the most fun for me to draw. I'm open to anything, though!

Okay, I have a PFS character I liked playing. Olga Blakovitch is a grappling character. She is a half orc. She wears Spiked Mithril Steel Lamellar Armor. She tends to pack heavy, always with the right tool for the job.

She is a gish with some levels in Fighter, Cavalier, Monk, and Alchemist.

She has the Sacred Tatoos Racial Trait.

I think of her as short and small for a half orc, and with a sinewy build.

You should probably include her favorite weapon(s), magical items, hair/eyes/nose/face/skin, and what sort of personality she has. Maybe also stat distribution.

This would be a reference for my character.
She's a changeling, even though she looks like an elf, as her father was an elf.
She is a witch, her iconic power is her animated hair and she has a snowy owl as a familiar. The tattoos on her face are made to resemble the patterns on the feathers of an owl.
She has a green eye and a hazel eye and blood red hair with a white streak.
If you want a reference on what she's wearing, it would be this robes.
The collars are the fangs of a giant weasel and a noble's jewels.
I think this is more or less what I can provide.
Don't feel compelled to do it. Only if it seems inspiring to you. I just provided this for fun and to see how your take on my character would be.

DR. BARBARIAN AM BARBARIAN PHD AM NEVER BEING IMMORTALIZED ON PAPER.

My newest PFS character could use a visual aid.

Malendyl Sarmaris is a human. He has a bright red mohawk, a black eye, and missing some teeth. Despite that, he has a big grin and is usually pretty cheerful. His favourite tactic in combat is the use of dirty tricks, where he pokes people in the eyes, pulls his pants down, kicks them in the groin, and so on. If that doesn't work, he always has a greatsword to fall back on.
I was sort of going for a punk/anarchist vibe with him, but when I described him to someone, he went "oh, so like an American Football player?", and I couldn't really disagree. I always pictured him in raggedy clothes, maybe a greatcoat, and muted leathers. Maybe vaguely piratical, like this, but with a few brightly coloured accessories here and there. He's raised by Gnomes (took it for a trait), hence the chipper attitude and coloured hair.

Thanks a lot!

An older woman who is of the aberrant blood line, she covers most of her body so as to hide her contorting form.

Feel free to go nuts with that one :)

Is it too late to get in on this?

Esverra Gundrunsdottir - Human Oracle of Battle.

A tall, good-looking woman with pale skin, blue eyes and long black hair. Usually wears heavy, realistic plate armor, heavy boots, and a fur-trimmed red cloak. Under the armor, she's not petite - fairly athletic. Carries a zweihander-style greatsword with a crossguard that looks like wings and a loop in the pommel.

A piece of advice? Um... I'm not that great an artist myself. "Practice like crazy" is about all I can think of.

Silver Crusade

I don't have a character (yet), I'm more looking to see the results of this, as I always like scoping out new artists for projects.

Hey folks! Thank you for posting! These are all in progress. I'm thumbnailing and doing pose concepts at the moment. Tight sketches will be posted soon, and then updated along the way.

This is still open for anyone else wishing to post!

Hey, I have one that I'd like to see if you're up for it!

Her name's Tyra, and she's a young brawler girl, let me bullet point her for ya:

-Half Elf
-Light brown skin
-Short black hair
-Green eyes
-Black leather gloves
-Soft round face
-Button nose
-More of a slim build
-Sleeveless black vest
-Brown shirt underneath
-Knee length black shorts
-Brown ankle boots
-More of an actiony pose if possible

Thanks a lot for doing this, let me know if you need any other details.

I'd love to get one of my character - Dolgrin.

-Dwarf
-Cleric of Torag
-Has ties to Brigh too (his closest ally is a Dwarf Inquisitor of Brigh, and will work on projects together)
-Enjoys drinking from his personalised tankard - Torag symbol (iron hammer) as the handle, only attached to the cup by the head at the top, while detached at the bottom (hope that makes sense)
-Favours his Warhammer, and spends a lot of time polishing it
-Bald
-Long beard
-Very uncharismatic
-Very strong
-Forever got ash from the forge or oil from his hammer-polish in his beard
-Doesn't sleep much
-Spends a lot of time at the nearby forge
-Has Craft: Mechanical and Knowledge: Engineering as staples
-Is in a very tech heavy campaign
-Was thinking something a bit steam-punky?

As for advice - always keep a fully stocked Handy Haversack, and get a Travellers Any-tool. Basic gear such as a hammer, pitons, torches, shovels, compasses, ropes, sacks, etc can have so many uses, so a Haversack full of stuff can cater a lot of situations.

Cheers in advance!

Thalia Velerin, a Varisian half-elf bard.

-Light olive skin
-Straight black hair, about to the small of her back, either loose or in a ponytail
-Brown or hazel eyes
-Slightly pointed ears
-Slender yet curvy build
-Loose, gypsy-esque clothing: half-blouse and long skirt with a slit
-Wields flaming katana (Suishen from Jade Regent)

Thanks! Let me know if you need more details. :)

Now you've done it. Everyone and their cohort wants their picture taken. Might as well drop my name in the hat.
A Mwangi (african) cleric of Erastil. About 5'11", sleight build, chain shirt with loose white shirt over it. Crowded belt with bronze dagger, waterskien, and other basic survival gear. Loose pants and high boots. His hair is kept short and face clean shaven, and while.only in his late 20's looks more to be in his late 30's with graying hair. Has longbow and arrows over back, and right hand replaced with a wood and metal device composed of three locking prongs that can grip a bow.

Hey there, not a Wizard but a sorcerer if that's okay? I normally find pictures online for character concepts but I've never been able to find one the suited him (and he has been bouncing round in my head for 3 years)

He is a Gnome draconic bloodline sorcerer (blue dragon), extremely charismatic with a blue theme.
He has blue dragon wings and where a cloak, the most important thing for me is his eyes like flashes of lightning.
You could put hints of scales on his skin, but not scales all over.
I think of him wearing long robes, and he is a bit of diplomat so not crazy spiky electrified hair.
Colours for hair and his robes are totally up to you, whatever you find works with his eyes and his wings and his pale skin(he has pale skin forgot to mention that) is kewl with me.

No weapons but his hands could have claw like nails and be crackling with lightning :)

If you do this I'll be forever greatful finding a good electricky diplomat gnome is hard xD

Of noble Taldan lineage, Sir Newton Cromwell carries himself in the current style, his jet black hair worn should length and a closely cropped full beard a perfect match for his finely tailor black tunic and breeches.

Ever ready at his side rests the blade Sorrow, a legacy of his first forays into the dungeons complex he continues to explore with his mercenary company, The Order of Shadows.

The details:
a 10th level bladebound kensai who presents himself as a wizard, Sir Newton Cromwell stands 5'4" and is on the thin side at 140lbs. Black shoulder length hair, beard perhaps 1/2" in length with a moustache of similar length. Two pouches hang from his belt and numerous rings, amulets and symbols adorn him, as befits a wizard of some standing.

Sorrow is a golden katana, frequently sheathed in black mist.

Black silken armor is worn, but portrayed as silken clothing of fine cut.

Should you choose to portray Sir Newton, I would greatly appreciate it.

Oh, this is going to be good. Are the links going to be posted here or sent as PMs to the winners? I love seeing how text descriptions of a character come off in artwork

If you are still taking offers, I am currently playing a character (half-elf oracle with the wood mystery) in a tabletop game which I hope lasts a bit longer. It would be

Young half-elf in what passes for his late teens.
Fairly high, just short of 6 feet, and athletic.
Beardless with dark-brown hair (ragged, just over shoulder length), tanned skin and deep green eyes.
Usually dresses in old travelling clothes with many pockets, usually brown with accents in different colors.
Will carry some wooden statuettes and talismans on him or hanging on his backpack.
If it is not too much of a pain, he should have a wooden holy symbol - a wooden carving of a mask made from leaves (looks like this).
If you like drawing arms and armor, he has a wooden breastplate and a spear. Both appear organic, as if grown (it's an oracle mystery).

If you're still interested, my current character is:

Rakteg Ghalmrin

  • Young Adult Dwarven Ranger who looks perpetually filled with quiet rage
  • Armed with a Dwarven Urgrosh and a Sling, wears Breastplate and a backpack under his cloak. Tends to have alot of weapons (short sword, light hammers, darts, etc)
  • Urgrosh (his TWF specialty & favorite) has a "beaked" axe blade, almost like it doubles as a mattock. The spear side is a wide-bladed tip, like a weaponized spade.
  • Brown hair & Green eyes
  • Military (recon/specOps/Surface Ops) background, but despite his "jarhead" background he loves researching history and has a gift for finding precious minerals
  • Beard has 68 beads, denoting his paternal bloodline, siblings, and military rank
  • Tattoos (can't see if he's wearing armor)
1 = Clan Ghalmrin Crest on Left Shoulder: 4 star sapphires in the 4 caverns, bound by blood. Each sapphire represents one of the Blue Dragons slain and used to build the Wyrmskull throne. Sapphires were chosen because Ghalmrin take pride in their reputation as the greatest jewelers
2 = Sword tattoo on his Chest: Ghalmrin’s warrior caste
3 = Axe on his back: Surface ops
4 = Compass on right shoulder: Ranger special training
  • Current job is to act as a strategic informant and prospector for his clan. While adventuring he sends notes home, describing potential mining sites, caches of wealth or resources, and political & military data on neighboring regions.

  • Nigel Hawtrey was a student of alchemy who found himself in a post-apocalyptic world with no memory of his previous life, but details have been slowly returning. He briefly believed his name to be Herkimer. He is physically well built with a keen academic mind but finds himself in awkward situations due to a series of rash but well intentioned choices. He is convince that this is not the true end of the world and that fire will eventually consume it, so he endeavors to master its use in hopes of preventing such an end. Nigel also wishes to spread this belief to others. He wears a red cowl and encourages others who share his belief to do likewise. He has blonde hair in a bowl cut, and carries a longspear and magical torch. I role-play him in a manner partially based on Bertie Wooster.

It would be hilarious if the OP just posts a bunch of stick figures. ;)

All kidding aside that's mighty generous. Can't wait to see some of those pics. :)

Hey, if it's good enough for Rich Burlew...

Would love to have an image for one of the PCs in the campaign I am running. Marrow Shroudsong is a gnoll dirge bard. A tall, broad shouldered, humanoid hyaene. Tan pelt with dark spots, and the beginnngs, couple inch long, of curling horns on her brows. Armored in matte black leather lamellar, and typically armed with a whip in one hand and battle axe in the other.

Bits of fur, scalps, feathers, and other trinkets hang from her armor and clothing.

Sara Manda is a kobold (tiefling) alchemist and aspires to become a dragon. She's already managed to figure out the breath weapon (bombs), some spells (extracts), and how to use her wings to fly for at least a little while each day.

Red scales, purple eyes, a mane/hairdo of spikes like the bestiary red dragon, 3' 0", 28 lbs (plus wings). Her primary gear is studded leather armor and her handy haversack.

As the second one posting I deserve more than a stick figure. I deserve red haired stick figure. And I'm not setting with less than that! ;-P

While this is awesome, I'm terrified of overloading the creative spark of such a generous soul.

*will take a backseat on any submission/request until the backlog gets caught up...*

will you be dropping links here?

Hey everyone! I will be posting the images here as I finish them. I'm unfortunately, due to some unfortunate things happening, typing this on my phone from a hospital bed (so excuse any typos). Don't get worried, though, i'm mostly okay. Will be going home tomorrow around noon my timezone (I'm in Europe)! And once I am home, i'll gladly post my sketches so far
This whole hospital thing is just a horrible case of bad timing.

Just thought I'd update you all on why this is taking a while. Even if it's not paid work, I still think it's good form to provide an explaination. Thanks again for posting! All these characters seem really interesting.

    Thanks for letting us know!

I hope you recover soon! That's a real sucky situation, and I hope you get better quicksharp.

I've got a few characters, but I'm not so good at descriptions so I'll just bask in the art you make for these fine folks.

    Good luck :)

Fourth, if you want to get technical. But second to post a character.

I hope you get better, soon!

Imagine Baze from Rogue One, a middle aged man, tall and big, long hair, asian skin tone, using a pistol, a full plate armor, a tower shield in the back, a buckler and shooting a pirate's head

    Me.

Taldan human. Fighter/ranger. Former Blackjacket (wears one), and currently in the employ of Moloch. Dual wields a falcata and a kukri.

As far as physical features go he's juat shy of 6 foot and just shy of 200lbs. Red/auburn hair and beard, both fairly straight.

Looks a lit like the icon =P

    Get well soon!

I wonder your thoughts on non humanoids? My favourite character is a druid who spends "all" their time wildshaped into a large bear.

While wildshaped he wears a buckler, that covers his entire forearm, rather than being round. He also wears armor specifically designed for his form.
The armor is dragonscale plates that protect his shoulders and upper arms. He also wears a dragonscale helm.

Even while a bear he looks more friendly than frightening.
I think a starting point would be volibear from LoL.

I am simply putting this here incase you run out of other people's characters to draw :).

    This is seriously awesome

Let me add my wishes for your recovery. And thanks and kudos.

I hope you get fine soon, Elver! Thanks once again for offering to do this.

I just read the full thread and not just the first post. I hope you recover swiftly.

Hello folks! Thank you all for your wellwishes <3
All is well - I'm now home, without permanent damage done.

I want to gauge the general feeling really quick.
Would you guys prefer a painterly style, or a more loose and sketch-like one?

Just as an example, here are two drawings I did last week of my wizard:

    Painterly:

    http://i.imgur.com/XSaOsfE.png

    Sketch-like:

    http://i.imgur.com/j21Wzpp.png

Let me know what your preference is for the outcome of your request!

I think the sketch would compliment the rough look I was going for.
(Also, for reference, I was the guy who requested Malendyl, the mohawk guy)

Bit late, but still: get well!
Also, your art looks great! Not sure if a noob like me can give you any advice you don't already know. I don't have anything to say about your examples that jump out to me as odd, for example.

While both look great, I would prefer the sketch style.

Myself I like the painterly style better even though both look great! Also, I hope you're feeling better.

Glad you got home nice and safe! Hope whatever damage remains, if any, fades soon enough.

Personally, I like the Painterly better, though both are excellent.

I prefer the sketch myself :)

    I like the sketch style.
However my preference would be the sketch style in greyscale or no fill at all.
    Awesome work both.

I hope you recover fully! Blessed be! And thank you for making this offer!

In fact, my heart is beating fast. Are you willing to do anthropomorphic animals? If so, I'm hoping you'll be generous and do four for me -- the three PCs & the GMPC in a game I'm running. I'm asking because I haven't been able to find good images for these characters, although I admit I haven't made a big search on-line.

The rough descriptions are: A tall & massive brown bearbarian man, a graceful snow leopard woman, a short, white sheepdog woman, and a very short, old rat woman. (All of them are members of custom races.) If you prefer to do them as a single image, in a group, that would be fine, too. I prefer your sketch format. If you tell me you can & will do it, I'll give you the details, of course.

I also play a sorcerer in another game, but the avatar I'm using is a pretty good picture of the character -- enough so that I've started to switch my mental of image of her to the pic. So I don't want to tie up the time you're giving away so generously for that character.
