God Conversion: Scion to Pathfinder

Conversions

Right, so this conversion is a little bit different (mods are free to delete this if it's too off-topic, just let me know first), but I wonder if there is anyone here who is familiar enough with White Wolf's Scion RPG to help me figure out how to convert the "god stats" from Scion to Pathfinder. The reasoning behind is simple - Scion is a mythological RPG, and as such has HUNDREDS of gods of various real-world mythologies, including some really obscure ones. So, I have a ton of Scion material, both official and fan-made, but no clue how to use these resources in Pathfinder. So if anyone can help me out or point me in the right direction, that would be very much appreciated.

PS. First post, yadda yadda.

Most of the scion gods already have 2nd ed d&d write ups. Look for forgotten realms stuff, and you should find the vast majority of what you are looking for. It shouldn't be hard to translate from there.

So are you looking to convert the Scion gods to PF gods, like what domains and alignment the would have?

Or convert the to full on stat blocks that list AC, hp, immunities, etc?

The one issue you'll run into is that Pathfinder generally does not provide stats for gods, since they're used more as plot devices than anything that will actually require stats. So it's going to be hard to do a direct comparison. Older editions of D&D will have stats for deities so I would use those as a benchmark.

It's going to be tough to convert stuff like Ultimate Epic Attributes and Avatar powers to Pathfinder as those powers in Scion are more narrative tools than anything (an Avatar of the Green can just wave his or her hands and have central park overrun New York City).

You're thinking of specifically Pathfinder gods, as they are the ones that don't get statted up. There are a number of statted deities already from various mythologies, such as Tzitzimitl, Cernnunos, and Anemos, for example.

Are you looking to create gods for the background, or player characters?

As a fan of Scion, I assume the latter...kind of.

See, the titular Scions are demigods-the original sense of having a divine parent In the upcoming 2E, it's more varied than "your human parent laid with a god"-you can easily be an artificial being the gods brought/helped bring to life, or a formerly mortal individual elected as a divine champion, or even an avatar of a true god whose main body died and you survived, becoming a weaker version of the god (though that's not a core Lineage, just something spoiled for the Companion). In any case, all Scions start out as what Pathfinders would call highly competent adventurers, rather than those with a divine rank. They become divine later, if they want to.

More importantly, Scion is not a world where the gods get to act as statless natural forces; they can, but they'd either devolve into Titans (primordial gods who can only think in terms of what they are gods of-Prometheus, for instance, simply can't realize that nuclear weapons are a Bad Thing because it's the ultimate expression of Fire-Harnessed-For-A-Purpose), or be at the mercy of Fate (for why this is a bad thing, see the prophecy of Ragnarok; the Aesir pulled too much on fate, and it not only slapped them with guaranteed doom, but hit all their Scions with Wyrd; it allows them to manipulate Fate, but it also guarantees that all will face a huge personal tragedy in their lives). If you want to operate without Fate hovering over your back, you have to accept weakness; you can have power, or you can have mostly-free will, not both.

(Yes, Fate was not a mechanic people liked in 1E. Thankfully, spoilers have shown that 2E Fate is a lot friendlier unless you cheese it off; it's a cheerleader, not an author, but it also has a knife meant for people on the proto-god and god levels of power).

In that case you pretty much have to decide what the end goal is... on the low end, it's either the plane-touched races, on the high end, you're essentially talking mythic. There really isn't one "right" answer, just a question on how much of a power level you want to end up with.
