Is Starfinder humanocentric?

General Discussion

I know there's lots of wacko races* around, but are humans the dominant race? Is there a dominant race? Or is it one-amongst-many?

*:
Not pejorative.

They're very prevalent, but much less dominant than in Pathfinder. (Don't tell them that, though!)

Cheers, James (Sutter?)

Follow up question: which would you prefer us to call you? It seems you're nearly always called Sutter by other staff, but that kind of feels disrespectful. :/

We often say Sutter, because if we say "Creative Director James," you can't know if we mean James Sutter or James Jacobs.

Certainly I never mean any disrespect any it. :)

Sorry - that came out wrong. I didn't mean it's disrespectful when the other staff say it! :o

I meant that as an outsider, leaping in and referring to someone by surname seems kind of disrespectful (or perhaps presumptuous).

Ha! Yeah, I don't have a preference either way. Everyone at the office calls me Sutter, and everyone in the rest of my life calls me James. I imagine this is what it feels like to have a pen name—they're both you, but different yous. :) For the messageboards, let's stick with Sutter for clarity!

As far as I am concerned, it's Mistah Suttuh. Might change to "Mastah" after I read Realm of the Fey... ;-)

(sorry for being totally off-topic but I'm sure Steve won't mind)

I prefer to think of it as braincentric. Mmm... so many delicious brains...

I worked for a place where there was four other people just in my department that had my name.

One guy, liked to take me and another guy with him on jobs so he could introduce us as "Hi, I'm Phil, and this my associate Cap'n*, and my other associate Cap'n**."

*Not my real name.
**Again, not my real name.

I'd like to say I'm really happy with the lower human focus. It always bugs me to find an entire species of "main character."

Edit: At least if the other races are being portrayed as actual people instead of, say LotR Orc's.

God-Emperor seems appropriate.
