Yeah, that was my fault. Thought of it is an opportunity to work on the character since I have spent a ton of time trying to get into games with precious little success.

I've been thinking up some character ideas. Rolling to see what I get, and hopefully will have a character up soon.

Born to a Dwarven family of a fallen hold Duraz spent most of his youth on the road. After the fall of his hold his father found worked as a traveling wheel wright. At the age of 15 both his parents were killed in a raid on a caravan headed to Sandpoint. He himself only survived because he was saved by a monk, who took him in and trained him. Now that his training is complete he heads there for resolution.

I'm just spoilering all RP for that very reason. It still allows for development and for the GM to see the voice of our character, should he be interested, but it doesn't clog up the thread very much.

Speaking of which:

Abrotriss:

"Oh, I like this one. He speaks the Tongue better than you. Can we keep him?" the bird chirped, "I am Nightspear, guardian and protector of this..." the sparrow looked at Rixa, who merely smiled at the bird as he looked at her in... was that disappointment on his face? "Troublemaker." the sparrow finally decided, and Rixa assumed a hurt expression. She stroked the tiny bird's head and let him flutter to her shoulder.

"Oh, interesting. So, do you have a spellbook? Or do you just have all your spells memorized? It's easy for me- my magic is more like knowing a language- but it must be tricky to have all that power locked up in specific materials, complicated gestures, and tongue-twisting phrases.” She shakes her head, an action mirrored by Nightspear (which admittedly looks rather comical), ”Is it hard? And how, exactly, do you bend magic so much, beyond what a wizard could normally do? Oh, and you said you spent your life in your father’s tower? Is he also an Arcanist?”

I figured you would, it just seems like the sort of thing that Abrotriss would also have some awareness of. But, he is your character. Play him as you like. :)

And while I'm here:

Submissions:

Also, have fun healing yourself, Libris. ;)

On a side note, Shadow guard are described as skeletons. How, exactly, does he sometimes forget he’s undead? Just curious. But wow that’s a powerful race.

A Qadiran with bright red hair walks near the table, his head looking this way and that, gawking at the sights like a tourist.

Looking up for a second, but not really seeing the group, he asks, Pardon me, gentle people, do any of you know the way to the cathed...

Now looking around in surprise at the people gathered in front of him, his mouth hangs open for a few moments. My, oh my, this is amazing. You must be a giant! (pointing to Mizzug) and you have such big, pointy teeth (pointing to Ulrich) Ooh, is that a talking dog? (pointing to Don Viego) Is he part of the troupe of midget performers (indicating the halfling, goblin, and gnomes)

Is this some type of carnival? Should I buy tickets?

Noticing Abrotriss and Rixa, he switches languages.

Celestial:
Greetings brother and sister, have you come to enjoy this fine carnival as well? Perhaps we could watch the performances together?

To be fair, Rixa and Abrotriss are some ways away from the others. But I'll be social. Out of curiosity, when you say red, do you mean regular "red" hair, or actual, bright red? You never know with Aasimars.

Celestial:

"To be honest, I didn't know about the carnival until I arrived. I simply felt the pull of Desna, and I followed." The sparrow on her shoulder looks indignant at this statement, but doesn't say anything. "I suppose there's no harm in it. What brings you all the way up north? You look... Garundi? Am I close? Sorry, I'm not too good with identifying foreigners." she blushes.

Jawhar:
"Giant? No. I...I half-hewman." She replies, blushing.

A troupe of performers? Inarus nodded. That would indeed explain much about the collected group. Being surrounded by a horde of gnomes, halflings, goblins and whatnot couldn't be normal in human towns. It really was the only rational explanation. Content with the answer, he quietly sat against the tree and watched the ongoing entertainment.

Bright red, like flame. Kind of like Sarenrae's, only much less impressive

Mizzug:
Hmmm... Half-Human, Half-something-really-big anyways. Fascinating

Well, very nice to have met you, my dear. My name is Jawhar Dhakir, and this is my first trip to Sandpoint. Or much of anywhere for that matter.
I've also never had the privilege of viewing a carnival performance before. I will be very eagerly awaiting your performance.
If you'll excuse me for a moment, I see some people that I must say hello to.

With that, Jawhar strides over to greet the two Aasimar standing apart from the main group.

Rixa:
Keleshite, actually, from Qadira. I am Jawhar Dhakir, cleric of Sarenrae and I left Qadira when I realized that I needed to gain a wider view of the world. So, I picked the furthest place away that was still in Avistan and took a boat for Varisia.
As I got closer, I heard about the opening of the cathedral here and came to get a look.
That is until I spied the hilarious troupe of carnival performers over there.
Might I ask your name?

I got the idea from a GM of mine in a game about 8 years ago. A favoured soul skeleton. So PE constructed skeleton. But sometimes forgets hes undead

Rixa:
Abrotriss laughs at Nightspear's remark, and shrugs at Rixa's questions. "I have a spellbook," he says, gesturing with the book he is holding, the one he has been writing and taking notes in. "As for you're comment about our differing styles, it would take years of study for you to replicate even one of my weaker spells. Magic is easy for you, and from what I know of wordcasters, very versatile, but you can replicate only the simplest of spells, and my access to the specialized spells is the great advantage of normal spellcasting. The difference between an arcanist and a wizard is that I prepare spells from my spellbook like a wizard would, but they don't fade from my mind, and I can cast them as many times as I have the power. Other than that, it is difficult to explain, as I said before," Abrotriss shrugs, obviously frustrated over his inability to explain. "And no, my father is not an arcanist, he is a wizard, and a rather skilled one at that, but something, I suspect my mother's blood, makes me handle magic differently than he. There was little he could teach me, and he preferred to have only the company of his familiar, Seltherix, anyways. He was still sad to see me go, I was finally getting old enough to not be constantly underfoot," Abrotriss gives a rueful smile and adds a few finishing touches to whatever he has been doing, before looking up at Rixa, and then back down before snorting in disgust. He flips the page and begins anew, brilliant green eyes narrowed in concentration, not even looking up as the other aasimar approaches.

He had never left his father's tower before leaving to come here, so I feel justified in saying he has no idea who Desna is. Also, sorry about the long diatribe on wordcasters versus Vancian mages.

Or perhaps, if GM permits,
Shadow Guard Anti-paladin?

Ah, yes I will allow it, but at a price! Obviously you will be subject to undead rules, and then comes the case of NPC oppinion... my awnser is yes, so long as you understand the implications of being detected by any of the good priests you will be coming into contact with.

Just realized that some of the games I'm in aren't showing up in my list. I want to get this issue resolved before (potentially) getting into another game, so I withdraw my interest. Good luck to all and Game On!

Baldric is completely finished and ready for review.

If i play an anti paladin. It will be fine too. But i like the idea of an PE undead paladin that forgets he is undead =^^=

Hope the build i put forward is acceptable (when you get to it =^^=)

going on assupmtion character is fine =^^= if not. Ill make the already aproved one later

An armored hulk enters. Metal from top to bottom. Helm and gauntlets. The most odd. The armor seem to not fit his body at all. Loose. Almost as he was way too small for what he was waring. An odd and exotic weapon strapped to his side, and a steel shield on his back. He waves as he enters

"Greetings fellow travelers! The gods has blessed us with such an amazing day. Makes one feel happy to be alive!"

Here’s the latest list: (I’ve been spoilering it because it’s getting a little on the long side. But I suppose it also makes it harder for you to spot.) Just a note: a couple of the submissions in the last list will have broken links, on account of the recruitment name change. They should be fixed here, though.

Submissions:

And then I had a couple of WoP questions (also in a spoiler, so easy to miss). Here they are again (once I know the answer to these, I can finish up the last of my build details):

Words of Power Questions:
Do spells with a Duration of "Instantaneous" count towards the rule about spells having the shortest time determining the
spell length? In other words, is it possible to use a Fireball that leaves a fog cloud afterwards, or would the fog cloud immediately dissipate because it's "Instantaneous?"

Does the Human’s Alternative Favored Class bonus translate into Words of Power as well? A casual reading of the rules suggests it will, but it's better to ask, in my opinion. (The exact text says, add one spell known from the spell list)

Do feats that apply to spells apply to individual Words? To specific combinations of Words? In other words, can I take Spell Specialization (Wrack), and get the bonus to Wrack + Fog Bank?

I’ll RP this afternoon. Just wanted to get this out. Out of curiosity, Waz Up, what’s your opinion on the RP? Do you like it, or would you prefer for it to stop?

Couple of quick questions:

1. I'm thinking of a Wizard with the Instructor archetype. It replaces the familiar with a 1st level commoner cohort. You do not gain the Leadership feat nor any followers unless you take the feat later. Is the Archetype permissible?
2. If so, could the cohort trade out scribe scroll for a spell focus, similar to the Pathfinder Society rule and does the cohort need to take a campaign trait as one of its two traits?
3. I'm not sure that I'd want or have room to take Leadership later, but is it permissible?

Sovereign Court

There are ways that make spells last longer, instantaneous spells are just those that happen immediately, without lingering. However there are ways yobmake them linger. Such as with metamagic.

For the wizard, yes, yes, and yes.

With the cohort traits, you may only have one and it can be any trait allowed.

Okay...
How about the human FCB? Do I get a bonus spell, or an extra Word? That's the last hit I need to finish up my build.

Unsure how to submit a character, but got one ready.
Dr. Rowan Strayts, Human Alchemist
Focuses on healing and the effects of various alchemical creations on the body.

@PsychoBear: You can either create an alias for you character and put the information in the profile, or you can put the information in the body of a regular post. You will probably want to put things in one or more blocks of spoilered text. See the following link for how to do that:

How to format your post

Many people use Hero Lab to build characters and post the resulting statblock, but you don't have to. Have a look at the submissions in this thread for guidance (for example, click on "Lubella Heathertoes" at the top left of this post).

I will write a story for Libris tomorrow and post his background.

Sorry waz up. it turns out i cant do it after all so please ignore my application. good luck you guys! bye

Any word on if you're fine with RP?

Celestial:

She says this in front of both of you, so you would both hear her.

To Jawhar:
”Oh, very nice! I’ve never met a Keleshite before. So you’re of the Dawnflower? Very nice.” She gives Jawhar a beautiful smile and extends her hand in greeting, ”I follow Desna, myself. I’m Rixa, by the way. Very nice to meet you.”
She looks over to where the motley party is gathering, ”They are quite the group, aren’t they? I’ve never seen such an odd bunch in all my life. Normally, in my experience, kobolds, goblins and gnomes would be tearing each other apart by now. There was an odd lady with them earlier, but she seems to have vanished since then. Also, I’m surprised they let the goblin in town. Normally, they make sure that no goblins ever make it past the wall. To my knowledge, they haven’t had an incident in years.”

To Abrotriss:
”Oh, that’s interesting. Who, or what, was your mother, that she gave you this talent? I take it you were born this way?” She asks
You’d be surprised at the power and versatility we… Wordcasters… have at our disposal. My mentor could make flames that froze whatever they touched and left smoke that burned like acid, create boxes that held the power of flight for whoever opened them, throw an opponent off of the planet, or call a creature from Desna’s realm with merely a Word. He was mighty, even beyond the tales I have heard of other legendary wizards.”
She smiles distantly, ”I’m sorry you had such a challenging time with your father. I would say I can relate, but I’m afraid I can’t. Out of curiosity, what are you drawing?”

Fair enough. Characters that are chronically not world-wise can be super fun to play. And I return the apology for wordcasting/vancian.
Oh, don’t get me wrong. WoP gives up a lot. No full-strength haste, no cantrip light, our wall of stone is temporary, no wishing at high levels or low-level blinding word…
But what we get in return is really fun. One of our reverse gravity imitations has no upper range limit, only a time limit. Think about that. That, honestly, is quite hilarious. Our Servitor words? Function as Summon Monster, only they are standard-action casting. We can create hilarious scenarios such as my bloodline arcana (+1 damage per die to spells with the fire descriptor) applying to spells that deal cold damage, not fire. The list goes on. Nothing is astoundingly game-breaking (well, beyond normal 9-level casting, at least), but it allows for creativity and hilarity. And I love being creative and hilarious.

Mizzug:
No I am not of the flock but have an appreciation for the unity of religion. I was raised with Desna in my life which fits a traveler.

Assessing further.

Half human you say, so am I. Bet you can guess the other half though cant you. Never met my non human half but I doubt he would enjoy the meeting as much as I would. gestures to is bow at that last part.

He is very curious as to her other half but dosn't want to ask as he knows how it is to be embarrassed by it.

Celestial:
Abrotriss seems not to notice her speak, having become completely absorbed in whatever he is drawing. He glances up briefly while Rixa is talking, but looks straight back down without seeming to even realize that she was talking at all. I agree that wordcasting is cool, that was mostly role play, I don't have the experience with it necessary to form an opinion, and I admit some of those examples are intriguing.

Celestial:

Rixa walks light as a feather behind Abrotriss to sneak a peek at his notebook, becoming nearly invisible as she goes.
Stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

I figured most of that was the opinions of Abrotriss, but I couldn't resist the chance to share my excitement about the system. Now, I won't go into too much detail, but I will say this much again, simply because of how awesome it is (admittedly, I won't benefit from it a ton, but there's still power here): there is not a single spell that has a costly material component. Not one. Just let that soak in.

Ulrich:
"Desna ya say? Hmm...Oh! Song of the Spheres with the pretty butterflies...and stars... Tis good goddess."

Pondering his appearance a moment, "Eh, te big ter be goblin...orc mehbe? I too ne'er met me parents. Raised orphan...Kind Dorf...derr.DWARF took me in."

Taking in the bow and blades the man carries, she inquires "Hunter?"

GM: I built Ruaidhrigh in HeroLab and used the Big Game Hunter campaign trait it had. Having looked at the Anniversary Edition Player's Guide, that trait isn't there, so I'm guessing it's a legacy of the original version that slipped in. Can I still use it? If not, I'll switch to the Giant Slayer trait listed in the PG, but I figured I'd ask. The traits are similar, though the one I have applied to all enemies large or larger (instead of just those of the Giant subtype) but doesn't provide Giant Slayer's out of combat benefits.

Celestial:
Co-bald? What an odd name for such a hairy person. I had thought it was a talking dog of some kind that had been trained to stand on its feet.
The grey, toothy one is a goblin. That is fascinating. I've never seen one before, though I have read about them during my training. Shouldn't he be eating garbage or skulking in an alley somewhere?

Jawhar has lead a VERY sheltered life...

Celestial:

Ummm... Kobolds are scaly, like dragons. Not furry. I defer you to this.

Rixa gives Jawhar a curious look when he asks about a "hairy" person. So far as she can see, there aren't any dwarves or other races that might look like an anthropomorphic dog. However, when he talks about the goblin, she nods.
"Yes, it is odd. That there's a respectable goblin over there, making conversation with the others. Normally, goblins are considered pests. Not terribly threatening unless in large numbers, fascinated by fire, love rooting through trash, making very... creative weapons, though not terribly smart. Really, I'm surprised it was allowed in the city. I've heard that Sandpoint has something of a goblin problem."

Sovereign Court

Oh I'm fine with RP, let's you develop your characters and get to know each other ^-^

As for the human thing, sure why not? One extra word.

Okay. I can live with that. Thanks a bunch!

Mizzug:

Considering the questions about being a hunter.

Well I guess that is as good as anything to call me. Learned to make bows and discovered I was a fair shot with them.

pausing

Good eye on the orc blood. Not my favorite feature but there it is. Had a good mum at least.

Gesturing to Mr. Biggs

Mizzug and Mr. Biggs:

[b] Mr. Biggs if you answered my quesiton about if you were providing fireworks I missed it in all the commotion of the day. I am sure that Miss Mizzug here would like fireworks this evening as much as I would.

Ulrich:
"I get dislike o lineage" she shares, with a nod to herself. "Admit height is hepful at time"

Looking down at Mr Biggs she smiles. "Fireworks is pretty."

Celestial:
A full body portrait of Rixa is slowly taking shape, barely more than an outline, and only just recognizable as Rixa, with a few features here and there, and an amazingly rendered sparrow on her shoulder, if the sparrow is any indication, it will be just short of a masterpiece I completely ignored the time frame rules for artistry, but he's just sketching it until he has time to render it in color, so I feel justified, despite his taking 20. And as for Jawhar, you're thinking of the WoW kobolds, these guys are reptiles, and have a proclivity towards traps instead of candles and earth magic, but are otherwise pretty close to the same.

Here is my submission. I'll just roll for gold and join in the fun, if it's all right with you all :).

Gold: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 2, 1) = 9

Everyone:

A tall and athletic woman, with a pale green skin and bright red eyes approaches the group. Around her neck and on the back of her right hand you can see the markings of Shelyn.

"This is amazing! It's always surprising how an event like this ends up bringing together such a disparate group of people and makes them put aside and forget their differences!"

Varshala takes a moment to observe each of the various individuals gathered around.

Mizzug:

Her eyes immediately focus on the giant woman standing above the crowd. Upon seeing the large songbird upon her cheek, she quickly joins her.

"Greetings, sister! It's great to find another follower of the Eternal Rose! How are you enjoying the festival so far?"

Varshala:
"Hey little one! The creation of beauty is the finest art! And tis full of color and friendliness 'ere." she replies, beaming at the fellow shelynite. "What bring you 'ere? Tis temple fer me."

A Halfling turns up, with pale hair, nearly blue in colour, and silver shined eyes. As she sits, it seems a cool breeze blows through the area.

It certainly is a varied crowd. I love festivals.

Celestial:
Ah. Okay. I was wondering why someone might think Kobolds are furry. I've never played WoW, so that explains that.

"Wow, very impressive, Abrotriss. You're quite the artist." Rixa smiles at him (she does seem to like smiling). On her shoulder, Nightspear chirps his agreement.

"Oh! Very nice! Though, if you want it to be realistic, I need to be blazing with divine might, with a sword in each claw, and twice as big as Rixa! As it is, I guess it's okay. Here, let me help." the tiny bird swoops down and lands on the sketching aasimar's head, giving him a spark of divine inspiration.

Nightspear uses his guidance SLA, giving Abrotriss a +1 on his check.

Satisfied, the sparrow returns to Rixa and perches on her shoulder. "Much better" he twitters.

"Where did you learn to draw? It looks like you have some talent." Rixa asks.
