Size of countries

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Hi everyone

Hope you had a good new year :)

Been wondering about the size of countries, as they seem to change from book to book. I GM a play set in Andoran and its size seem to fluctuate a lot. Like currently it is from the darkmoon forest to the tip of the southmost point about 700 miles, that is very large compared to the former sizes and the map of the inner sea region.

So what I am wondering is there like a concensus on the size of golario and the inner sea region ?

as big as the narrative demands.

I always treat the Inner Sea World Guide as canon (since, as I understand it, that's the 'evergreen' product they plan on keeping in print).

By that scale, it looks to me like Darkmoon forest to the southernmost tip is around 400 miles.

Early books (eg the "D" series set in darkmoon vale) were written before the world guide had come out - in fact, even before the Gazetteer, from memory. It wouldn't surprise me if there was the occasional discrepancy between ISWG and some of the early books.
