Paladin PrC recommendations

Advice

Hello!

I have a question about options for a Paladin prestige class.
Here's some info:
Paladin of Abadar level 6
Melee (sword/shield) build
Aasimar with middle age (age resistant spell like feature)
He is a religious political influence in kingmaker.
All in with "The Lawgiver" his tabard and banner has the two headed eagle on it.

I know straight Paladin isnt the most optimal way to go, but I want a PrC that goes with the flavor of what I'm doing concept wise.

Sixth level is where I need to be at.

Thanks again.

straight paladin is probably the most optimal way to go.

what is it that you're looking for from you multiclass/PrC? if you're going for PrC for flavor/concept we need to know what you're trying to get that fits that.

Erm, straight paladin is pretty optimal.

Silver Crusade

Yeah, Im echoing the others if optimization is just what you want out of it, go Paladin the whole way.

To second Chess, what is the flavor/concept you're going for?

Evangelist from Inner Sea Gods could work.

It's the kingmaker AP. My last character needed to leave (fit the story perfectly) so this is my new guy. He was trained from a young age the ways of Abadar (max k-religion) but found himself more of a guardian and turned the the paladin order. He continued his training at Axis and even found himself battle hardened at the River Styx.

Since then the temple of Abadar has found interest in this growing kingdom and is offering its guidance (me)in building the kingdom, economics, religion, etc for a price.

I've invested I intelligence for more skills and a higher bonus to my knowledges. I used my two traits to put more knowledges in class.

I hope this helps for the flavor he is heading towards.

Still not seeing how a pure Paladin doesn't fit?

so what are you wanting that the paladin isn't giving you?
bard increases knowledges and has synergistic stats.
also, which feats do you have or are those up for changing? that is a big factor as to how fast you can get into one

Noble Scion?

I like paladin, but at a point they keep getting more smiles and mercies that don't get used up. The bond is great but a crafter fixes that.

Bard would be something to look into. I should look at the paladin archetypes to see if they offer more skilled option.

It sounds more like a cleric than a paladin, clerics can be played pretty close to a paladin though. Divine casters are dumb dumbs with their 2 skill points per level making them pretty poor at non-combat stuff. And Paladins don't have anything that is martially impressive that a cleric can't do.

If you want more skills the cardinal archtype you could do a lot more of what you described.

Also Sentinel and Sacred Sentinel.

so are you wanting more skill points a level? It's really hard to give advice when you're not being clear on what you're hoping to gain from switching.

Silver Crusade

Yeah, the only mechanics part we've gotten from your posts is basically, more skills. Which means Paladin Really isn't the best choice.

Have you thought about Ranger?

While Sacred Sentinel IS good, the OP has stated his character worships Abadar, and Sacred Sentinels are a Torag-only club.

Yep, ya have to worship Torag.

Darn.

Paladins really do get the shaft for prestige classes. But then again, the core class is pretty awesome, so there's that.

Scarab Sages

Lawgiver you say? How does Hell Knight sound? Interesting abilities, fits the theme, and gets to Smite Chaos. There's some Smite boosting gloves that go nice with this setup.

If you're okay with 3PP stuff, Justicar (of Muir, although you can refluff that) from Frog God Games is a pretty neat alternative.
