Transformative Enchant + Black Blades

Rules Questions

If you were to apply the Transformative weapon enchant to a Black Blade would it always be a Black Blade...

Can you only turn it into 1h slashing weapons?

Can it be any similar weapon, but loses its "Black Blade" features if its not a 1h slashing?

Examples

Transformative Longsword Black Blade turns into a Trident.

Greater Transformative Longsword turns into a spiked guantlet.

Do the above weapons remain black blades, including all features, and abilities, outside the weapon type, of course.

You can't add Special Abilities to a Black Blade, except temporarily through class abilities, spells, or magic items (Arcane Pool, the Returning Weapon spell, Deliquescent Gloves, etc.). And I dont know any such method that would let you add Transformative.

You could always use Polymorph Any Object

How does Polymorph Any Object help you add the Transformative Special Ability to a Black Blade?

The only special abilities that can ever be on a black blade (until they print new arcana) are: dancing, flaming, flaming burst, frost, icy burst, keen, shock, shocking burst, speed, vorpal, bane, anarchic, axiomatic, holy, unholy, brilliant energy, ghost touch, planar, phase locking, throwing, and returning.

I imagine if they print a magus arcana that lets you grant your weapon the transformative special ability with your arcane pool they will specifically address how that interacts with the bladebound magus.

Liberty's Edge

Fighter's Warrior Spirit or Occultist's Legacy Weapon might be able to do this if your GM allows fixed gp cost enchantments like Transformative to be converted their equivalent +X value.

In such case I'd follow the normal rules for Transformative weapons... all abilities would function unless they are not allowed for the new form (e.g. a vorpal black blade transformed into a club would lose that ability).

PS: Polymorph Any Object does not work on magic items.

What if you multi class a blade bound magus with an occultist? Choose your black blade as your transmutation implement then invest mental focus and give it the transformative property.

How does Polymorph Any Object help you add the Transformative Special Ability to a Black Blade?

Polymorp Any Object = turn the black blade into anything desired.

A simple change in shape is permanent, just as changing a human into an elf would be permanent.

Again;

"Magic items aren't affected by this spell."

Blade Blade is an EX ability with a physical manifestation.

The same reason you cannot using crafting skills to enhance the Black Blade.

Blade Blade is an EX ability with a physical manifestation.

That 'physical manifestation' is specifically a sentient magic weapon.

Polymorph Any Object does not work on magic weapons.

Fixed it for you.

I wonder how long it will take CBDunkerson to realize the /s in my initial post meant 'sarcasm', not 'serious'.
