Update: I know that the prices changed right after I made my first purchase, because I went back to grab a couple somethings I had forgotten, and the prices were back to normal/not-on-sale. But I just checked my wishlist 5 minutes ago, and the 3PP stuff is back on sale. It could be something weird going on with my copy of Firefox, or maybe it's a hungover gremlin in the server room.

Oh, this is not good.
So tempted to just go nuts on purchases.
I cannot in good conscience take advantage of what appears to be an error with the systems. It would be taking advantage of Paizo and the other 3PP's good natures.
Not gonna.

People have taken advantage of this off me as a vendor, though. Actually, I don't mind - so anyone who wants to buy Four Dollar Dungeons at this discount is welcome to do so, but Paizo, if you're watching, I don't want this to continue for a whole month!
I'm going to have to think about whether I should exploit this as a buyer.

Reviewing what happened, the sale mishap was active for part of Sunday, January 1st. We are not going to adjust the orders that were submitted during that time. If you got through checkout with the sale prices, it was your lucky day.
If you were not able to submit your shopping cart until after we corrected the sale issues and your order was submitted with the correct prices (i.e. not the discounted prices), we are happy to help cancel the order for you if you have not downloaded PDFs or if your order has not shipped. If you have questions or concerns about an order, please contact us as soon as possible.
I've turned over the data for which items were purchased to our financial team so they can ensure the consignment items that were purchased are not adversely affected by this discount.

That is beyond amazing.
I recognize that what you're saying is that you're going to pay the 3rd-party companies their normal full cut, even if you didn't charge me enough to do so. Without knowing the precise math, I recognize that very likely means a loss due to the margins I've heard bandied about, and the percentage of the accidental discount.
I know there are laws regarding completed transactions and mistakes in advertised prices etc, etc. But there's ethics too.
I absolutely know that many, many people are of the "you snooze, you lose" mind-set and I respect the sanctity of an organism to view things primarily from their own betterment's standpoint. But I've never been comfortable being me-first...
So. With most heart-felt appreciation, I would like to thank Paizo for being... awesome. I truly hope that the scope of this was contained enough that any fiscal loss harms neither the company, nor the employees that make it work.
