I was putting some of the pregens into Hero Lab this evening ahead of my son's birthday party and I can't figure out Ezren's starting gold. The level 1 sheet says he has 15 gp in addition to his gear, but I came out with 29. Is it possible that it was calculated as though his spell component pouch was free but he had to buy his starting spellbook, instead of the other way around? Or is there a PFS rule I've missed that says wizards don't start with a free spellbook?

Sometimes the pregen gear doesn't quite add up to what a standard character might get.

That would certainly explain it, thanks.

I thought hero lab had the pregen gens already entered

Ezrin.. HIC.. may have stopped off HIC.. somewhere and bought a few.. HIC.. adventuring supplies..

There are a lot of errors in the pregens. Don't sweat it.

They have versions of them, but not PFS legal versions.

I believe that the pregens in Herolab are based off the offical Paizo pregens but are not legal for use.

I think the HL ones are the ones in the NPC codex, which are PFS legal, but not the current downloads

Does anyone blame him? Considering how stressful it is to babysit Society operatives?

I dunno - Ezren had scribe scroll when I imported him into the portfolio. Looked a lot like the NPC Codex version though.

I've been looking at the PFS pregens the Hero Lab has in its Pathfinder folder, under "Pathfinder Society Pregenerated Characters". I haven't noticed any differences between those and the current PFS pregen PDFs while I've been importing the Hero Lab portfolios into Roll20 (I'm also copying the PDF text onto the Bio section of the Roll20 character).

In fact, I just went and double-checked the first level versions of Amiri, Hakon, and Kyra that I've got in my PFS Pregens Roll20 table, all imported from those Hero Lab portfolios, and a quick check shows that the traits, feats, and gear listed on the PDF pregen text matches what the Hero Lab portfolio included (didn't go as far as to check skills).

Those portfolios were clearly built from the current PFS pregen download. Only problem I'm seeing as that they're currently missing the vigilante.

Ah. Huh. So. It's possible that I may have been using the iconics from the HL Encounter Builder. There's a separate folder for the PFS Pregens specifically? Hmm.

I'll just go sit in the corner now.
