My personal mascot will a general purpose skill aiding robot. Something akin to Robbie the Robot. He's going to be an NPC on the ship for my players who will aid in attempting skill rolls no one can do or failed. However, he's a secondhand robot from a junkyard world so his programming has a lot of issues.

It's a d6 to decide if he can help or not. Anything over 3 is a success. The number rolled his his modifier.
2 and 3 means fail to compute.
1 is epic fail, and he breaks something.

Whatever the outcome, he will say, "I am Fixer 5000. I halp."

I'm hoping we'll get to see the Starfinder version of Flumph Industries' Tryg 9000 in the core book or bestiary, so everyone can have one.

What about a Ratfolk Raccoon with a huge laser pulse weapon and an intelligent Leshy (larger than her/him) beside the Ratfolk.
Hey! What would his companion say about being called a Leshy? Huh?
"I am Groot."

Most likely, yes. Thank you, Drahliana.

Oh duh. Gremlins! Gremlins should be the mascot. They're small, annoying, and already have a history of messing with flying technology. Perfect modernized goblins

*Bows* always nice to meet a fan! Or ratherñ have a fan :P

BUT yeah, I could even picture them in swarms if they go unchecked for too long. All hidden in panels of the ship till you find one-then here they come.

Oh god. Goblins+tribbles. That's what gives you the gremlins!

Oh, Flumph Industries' marketing team is full of incompetent jerks who will be the first up against the wall when the Revolution comes.

They tend to be Lawful and work well in communities, both of which are idea for extended periods living aboard ships. They typically only weigh a quarter of what Medium races do, and less mass means less fuel consumption for ships (especially escaping gravity wells). And if androids can adapt/improve from Pathfinder to Starfinder (hints are they're less vunerable to vaccuum), then so can kobolds:

There is a math problem with your Kobold. (Normal Movement rate is not -1 RP.)

A bigger problem, of course, is that we don't know enough about anything in Starfinder yet to speculate on balancing racial abilities.

Actually, I think races are one of the easiest things to speculate on for Starfinder. After all, they told us that we can use existing monsters from Pathfinder with minimal conversion. Those bestiaries with the monster also happen to include player character races from Pathfinder. What they said about minimal conversion should hold true for races as well as monsters.

Attention! Space goblins have been confirmed and will be likely located in the starfinder release for free rpg day in June. We will in fact have GOBLINS! IN! SPACE!

Good catch. :) Yeah, that's my fault. I had originally dropped them to "slow" [-1 RP] as a tradeoff, but then I switched it back, because 1) I wanted to stick keeping them closer to original kobolds, and b) they're still weaker than most other PC races in combat.

You guys know how to make a man feel old.

Vic is referencing Battlestar Galactica. The old one.

Now excuse me. I need to move my phylactery again.
