No one was ever impartial about politics. There is no such thing.

Being in favor of maintaining the status quo has often been portrayed as being impartial, but it's no more objective/impartial/neutral than being in favor of changing it.

Well said. I grew up thinking I was apolitical, when I was really just unaware.

Congratulations! Your next step towards enlightenment is to realize that not a single person on this Good Green Earth agrees with 100% of your views...

I like to think that the forums taught me that.

You don't want to know what I've been teaching the forums.

It only took me 5 mins. into my first rules thread.

Slow on the uptake, eh?

Be the change you want to see in the forums.

Play games.
Make obscure pop references.
Be excellent to each other.

I've woven in and out of here for years, with long absences, and I see what the OP means, and I partially - but only a bit - agree... and my love of the ellipses remains strong.

Also, in proud board tradition, I've read no other posts in this long thread save for a little skimming. Proud of it.

It's still fun as hell to hop on here now and then, and try to impose my viewpoint - especially when I'm right. Especially when I'm on a trip-hop kick, and I need something to be background to the music, while also being foreground in the active frontal cortex.

Is there a point to all this? I dunno, don't complain about what's good, even if it's not as good, because it's still good. Also,

What I lack in speed I make up for in sheer obliviousness.

Shadow Lodge

I play RPGs to immerse myself in a fantasy world and blissfully forget about the tedious grinds of the real world...of which a main grind is encountering politics-worn-on-the-sleeve.

Holy s$#$, there's a name I haven't seen in a long time.

Hello again everyone and once again apologies to anyone I upset or offended. Have popped into the odd thread now and again since I last posted in this thread and have also cut down on which sub-forums I frequent. Outside of that thank you for all advice and again apologise.

Now off to close website feedback once again and continue to try and get my brain in gear in Spaldings NPC villagers thread.

I think he got busy with work. I got the impression it was going to be for a while, but not that it was permanent. (That is just an impression though).

I hope he comes back at some point. He was a real asset to the boards.
