Int required for Extra Item Slot

Does an animal companion need three intelligence before taking the Extra Item Slot feat for Animal Archive? It isn't on the Core Rulebook animal companion feats list but it is specifically designed for animals. Given how PFS tends to rule on specific lists not allowing deviation without an explicit exception I don't think it can take the feat but I want to check if I missed anything.

Reasons for the question:
I'm trying to get some grappling feats for my Constrictor Snake animal companion but those aren't on the animal companion feat list so I'm trying to raise its Int to 3 with magic items. It starts with only 1 Int and I'm not going human for the alternate racial that would add 2 to a companion's ability score. I want to get Extra Item Slot (Headband) (one of the few item slots serpentine creatures can get) to grab a headband of Int but I don't know if that requires 3 int to grab.

No, you don't need to raise your animal companion's Int to take the feat.

Read the very top of page 18; it says "This section presents new feats for animal companions and familiars, . . ."

They are meant to be available to any ACs that meet the prerequisites listed for the feat (with no other prerequisites).

Extra benefit for going the headband route instead of raising its actual Int score: it won't get any extra skill points until you raise its Int to at least 10 (2 + Int mod skill points, minimum 1), whereas the headband will grant the ranks in the associated skill regardless of how low its Int modifier is.

The main reason for using the headband is so I can start grabbing feats as early as level 4 versus waiting until level 9 and then only being able to grab 1 feat that isn't on the normal list. This also frees up the ability score boosts for more strength and con.

that's giving your AC a big dollar item at level 4, that you can barely afford. I mean, it may be great for your build, but consider you cash!
