Bel Air Games installed a time machine in one of the lavatories. Sitting upon the throne and pressing the appropriate button will take one backwards in time - one day for each "single" flush (one water drop on the button), and one month per "double." In this manner one can arrive earlier this year on a cold Thursday in February at Bel Air Games and meet us there.
There is an event horizon, however, in the time machine, and you can't go back further than the first date the device was installed. So no going back to the 1980s and buying vintage RPG books, or setting the 1990s as the destination and getting rare Magic: The Gathering cards.

I'd love to make one of these, but my wife is requiring my presence at a social engagement that day. Perhaps HawkCon X will work out better. (I imagine the best travel plan from Boston would be to fly to BWI on Southwest, then take the train up to Aberdeen, but it's a moot point until my schedule actually opens up).

You are of course welcome at HawkCon Any!

I dunno...once upon a time I had a work conference in Boston, and drove while some co-workers flew to PHL. I beat them home handily - once you factor in a) driving to the airport a lot earlier than your flight, b) waiting in line, b) flying, c) getting out of the airport, and then d) traveling from the airport to your destination, it might be faster to drive. Perhaps not easier (wear & tear on your car, you have to pay attention, etc.), but it might save time.

90 minute flight down is great, but 2.5 hour train from there to Bel Air feels a bit rough.
7.5 hour train from Boston to there, but I bet that's quite a bit more expensive than a flight.
I keep eyeing these HawkCons, hoping they end up happening at a time I don't already have plans. Big vacation planned for a week after this, though, so I think I can't make this one!

I personally would take the Tappan Zee bridge and avoid that mess. I have rarely found that cutting through NYC helps, and I-95 north of NYC can be crowded, too. But I'm usually willing to go 30 minutes out of my way to be sure that I don't hit the 50% chance of spending an extra hour and a half in traffic. In addition, bridges and tunnels into and out of the city can be expensive.
A round-trip train from Boston to Aberdeen (leaving on a Friday, returning on Sunday) looks like it's ~$100.

I thought this maybe a good question to field for those of us who love the game, would love to come to this event, but live a solid 4 hours away.
Besides the obvious value of getting to hang out with wonderful people and playing an obviously great game.
How many scenarios do you typically get through/attempt at HawkCons?
The reason why I ask is because there are three of us who would most likely be able and willing to make the trek, however, like most, the time spent traveling will be significant. I'd love to be able to come out and play some more with you guys again though!
