Thank you for finally reading my posts. I've been saying it for a while now ;-)

What you're saying is absolutely terrible.

It is as rude, disrespectful, insulting, and demeaning to your fellow gamers as it is completely inane an unfounded.

The problem is not that people aren't listening to you it's that we are.

I am genuinely confused by your response.

So Nefreet you believe right now the only reason to venerate Chthulhu is to be a dick? But if it was perfectly legal to be a cleric of him then choosing the exact same method of venerating him would then not be being a dick?

The Pathfinder Society team discussed this thread at our meeting yesterday.

Worship and venerate are two different terms defined in the Pathfinder Society Roleplaying Guild Guide. This enables differentiation between roleplaying and mechanical benefits.

At this time, we are not limiting deities for veneration. Restrictions on worship remain the same, per Additional Resources. To give some insight into our reasoning, the act of veneration is personal to the character and adds roleplay benefits. Limiting choices that do not provide a mechanical benefit doesn't feel right. We also couldn't see a way to limit specific deities that didn't get burdensome or create more questions than it answered.

However, this ruling comes with the same caveat we stressed when we removed restrictions on professions. Allowing unrestricted veneration cannot come at the expense of other players' enjoyment. If you bring a character that venerates Sock Monkey to a table of Golorian-centric players, expect to tone down his veneration out of respect for other players. If the group doesn't care, play up the veneration of Sock Monkey. While we replaced the "don't be a jerk" wording in the guide with a more comprehensive community policy, respecting the enjoyment of your fellow players remains a core philosophy of the campaign.

Chris locked this thread earlier because of posts with personal attacks, baiting, and malicious tone. So I am posting but leaving the thread locked. If you care to discuss the issue in a calm and rational manner, you can make a new thread and discuss it there. If not, the matter has received an official call and is considered resolved.
