Murder's Mark replacement players needed

Recruitment

I have a group that has gotten about half through the Murder's Mark module, and we lost several players. We could use a rogue (or some other character who can handle traps) and perhaps an arcane caster (we have a bard already)

possibly interested. Any other info? I've always enjoyed roguish characters

Will PFS society chronicles be issued?

miteke, no, I'm not running this in PFS mode, so I cannot issue chronicles.

thelizardwizard, you can find a link to the discussion page of the campaign where I give character rules and things here. If you're interested, before you build the character, pitch your concept here to me and we'll talk.

I had two thoughts,

the first, an independent investigator that worked all sorts of cases, recent;y started looking into rumors of a local thieves guild gaining power in the city.

or

A young sorcerer who feels that joining up with the circus by making use of his natural arcane abilities could possibly be the easiest life he could have for a while. He is also quite the fan of music and plays the flute and violin often.

just two general ideas, figured you could tell me which would work better and I could fluff them out from there.

Are you looking for just one player? I'd be interested, I have a wizard who could be adapted pretty quickly.

My hope is to collect a few people's ideas who are interested, and then I'll see what the players think. If you are considering altering an existing character, if you already have an alias for that character, point me to that alias. I'm definitely open to two new players, not just one.

Hmmmm, maybe I should build an arcanist...

Oh! Also, is the game on these boards? Or is it elsewhere?

Yes, the game is on Paizo forums. The fourth post(at the top) contains a link to the discussion part of the game. An arcanist would definitely be a good choice, if you can avoid stepping on the toes of the bard.

Thinking a charismatic rogue, who would have a little of a sorcerer about her (if human) or him (if gnome) .... i.e. the rogue would have a 0 level spell as a trait or something similar ... will take a look and roll something up.

I see its an unchained rogue, if I go that path ...

Gnome ....
10 10 10 10 10 10
0 8 3 -2 4 2 = 15
-2 0 2 0 0 2 .. race
StrDexConIntWisCha
8 18 15 8 14 14

+2 Constitution, +2 Charisma, –2 Strength

7 skills - stealth, perception, disable device, umd, acrobatics, know(local), bluff, diplomacy .... maybe change a bit doing skills from memory ... missing from list climb, escape, hands, disguise.. for later

feat ... dual weapon ..
traits ... dunno ...

weapon .. daggers ...

Fun little chap, gets involved in everything, then quickly looses interest and wants to move on to something else... circus always exciting... and there's a mystery... what more could a little guy want.. wears quite colourful clothes, when not out on a job ... blue hair, red hat, yellow tunic .... smiling and chattering all the time, except when on a job ... can be hired for money, cos that's a way to adventure, has pack of cards with his details on should anyone want him for some special purpose.

That's it a quick sketch done at work before I flesh out the background, etc.

If this kind of guy interest you then I'll flesh some more ..

Any chance you could post a concise character creation here, it isn't very difficult to follow that discussion thread for character creation.

I need to go over and check this dude over ... essentially a normal rogue with extra feat weapon finesse to make him look more unchained ... I'll gt all unchained soon.

Other little change is that I'd like to use one of the gnome alternate racial traits, Gift of Tongues ...

Personality, not very clever but willing, always up for a chat and telling stories. Inquisitive as gnomes often are, quick to gain interest and just as quick to loose it. Enjoys magic, has some tricks up his sleeve. Happy go lucky sort of gnome. Likes language, but doesn't know many yet.

Wears quite colourful clothes, when not out on a job ... blue hair, red hat, yellow tunic. Clean shaven, black boots, takes pride in his appearance. Blue eyes match his hair, quite tall for gnome, smiles a lot.

Interested, independent investigator type.. circus always exciting... and there's a mystery... what more could a little guy want. Can be hired for money, cos that's a way to adventure, has pack of cards with his details on should anyone want him for some special purpose. To be fair, he's rarely ever had anyone take him up on his services, but there's always a first time, and if its just plain interesting, well who needs much in the way of payment.

Often performs silly magic tricks for children, when he's around town.

If chosen I'll either reuse an existing alias or create a new one ...

OK, Deevor, you're on the short list that I'll present to my players to consider. I'm looking at the ideas, not the exact mechanics or anything.

I'll wait a few more days to see if anyone else also submits a detailed character sketch.

i would love to post a character but really don't understand the character creation rules, if you wouldn't mind posting a version of them here it would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to participate in this. I have an idea for a character; he or she would be an aberrant bloodline sorcerer with some ugly deformities. As such, they would be a sideshow attraction at the carnival. I have some more ideas for the character that I will be posting later today; I would like to read what has happened in the campaign so far and figure out how my character could fit in.

This was originally a game to help new players, although only one of those original new players remains. Because of this, I asked players to make most of their character choices from the core rulebook. Any other Paizo source could be considered, but require GM approval.

15 point buy, flat buy. That means
18 costs 8 points
17 costs 7 points
...
11 costs 1 point
10 has no cost
9 frees up 1 point
8 frees up 2 points
7 frees up 3 points

All scores must be in the range of 7 to 18 before racial adjustments.
Anything from the core rulebook is legal except the core rogue, which is replaced by the unchained rogue.

I'm not looking for a full character build at this stage; more a choice of class (including archetype, if any), race, and those options that give the character its flavor. A bit of background is good, too. I don't want everyone to go to all the trouble to build a character completely until the players weigh in on what they want. You can run any important non-core options past me here, if you want.

I guess my gnome is on the short short list ... :-)

as opposed to a giant being on the large short list ..

Sorry, couldn't resist it as I was passing through and seen you'd been by again too!

Plus it boosts it up the list.

I'm going to wait one more day before I close 'recruitment.' So far, only Deevor has submitted a possible character, but there are several interested people.

OK, recruitment is closed. I'll see what the players want.
