Link isn't working for me, I'm afraid.

Silver Crusade

Linky no work :(

The link works, but only if you delete the redirect (everything before polygon).

Silver Crusade

Thankies!

Ooooooo, pretty...

Fixed Link.

I'm feeling the hype real bad. Man, I love the direction the solar system is headed. I like the Starfinder is embracing the cantina effect and rolling with it.

Wooooo!

I hope the other iconics will be non-human and representative of the other new core races for Starfinder.

And regarding Navasi... I think I finally found my waifuuuuu! Seriously, though, cool pic!

Interesting stuff, it certainly makes for a good teaser for the game. Since you posted it about Navasi I focused on her art... I like a lot of the clothing, style and equipment (her wielded pistol would fit for star wars, he holstered piece looks more magic-tech) but her right wrist and hand look a little wonky... maybe it's just the display I am using or it being so late. Anyways, some of the setting details are starting to get some clarity :) every Drift jump assimilates some of the outer planes? Sounds like somebody wants to start a new blood war :p

Are you THAT worried about people taking a side-trip in their own campaign to glass the surface of a certain world well known for its tantrum-throwing-trumpeteer of paladins? Feels like the 'gap' was more about not performing Exterminatus on the old setting than about everything else said about it; you sure you want it to feel that heavy-handed?

The Pathfinder society was... unethical say the least. They were described one way but what they end up actually doing made "not evil" feel like a bad joke. Are the starfinders also going to be written the same way? (While it's fine as a title it feels kinda... lame as a group name though).

I'm reminded there was a city that was supposed to be central that way as well in Pathfinder, except it was so otherwise ignored that it ended up being 'the middle of buttf$+&-nowhere' in regards to relevance to any of the setting. Which is kind of unfortunate. Don't forget about it after the pre-release hype, this time!

I'm kinda wondering how many here on paizo forums referring to Iomedae meme actually have read/played WotR instead of reading about it on forums .-.

My god, the sour grapes all over the comments on this (frankly, quite exciting) article make me understand why people decompress from the 'net...

I remain psyched, nonetheless.

very few. And fewer as time has gone on.

I can't tell if the people that said "you lost me at Tabletop" or "tabletop? LMAO" were genuine or not. I really don't know what they were expecting.

Also it's good to see that Starfinder doesn't seem to have fallen into the utter fashion disaster that plagues way too many sci-fi settings. At least, that's what it's looking like right now.

Alright, got some sleep in and the coffee is in full drive, lets see what we can pull out of this exciting piece! :D

The iconics from the Starfinder splash page are present with a different background, Given the new look of being on some ship wreck of asteroid type setting it is more apparent that the two organics are wearing breathing devices while our switch hitter android gets to show off the obviously benefits of not being a meat bag. Since no one is wearing anything like a pressure suit i assume this is more standard adventuring wear rather than them actually in hard vacuum.. although they might have hand-wavium energy fields for that too. Did any one else just notice the body seems under the Android's arm? Its a neat little detail that makes me think of Aegis from the Persona series, which is a neat comparison for how Pathfinder/Starfinder presents Androids anyways. Cool stuff.

This is also the clearest look i've had at Absalom Station, it looks to be much bigger than i first thought it was. looking at its height and width, and if the green in the bubble is supposed to be vegetation, i would guess its size at around 1.5 x2 miles, enough to hold a very large population.

Previously we were told that the Gods wont say what happened to Golarion, in this article the writter says that they actually dont know what happened to it. I am not seeing a Paizo rep saying the same though so this may be a misinterpretation from the writer?

The Gap, the ascension of multiple AIs into a singular deity and the creation of the Drift all happened "several centuries ago" possibly all related?

The Drift itself is undefined as to if it was created or discovered but it feeds itself at the expense of the outer planes, and when creatures from those areas are pulled in, it is implied they are trapped there. Lots of exciting opportunities for conflict between the good/evil/ (assumed) nuetral AI gods. Also the idea of demons corrupting some areas of the Drift (lets call these areas the "Warp") is very fun to play with.

The residents of Absalom Station are described as "marooned" on the station but i dont think that fits well with the idea that they have been on the station and active for several centuries post Gap. There is also mention of a Pact so Absalom seems to be a political polity in the Golarion System. Possibly not the lowest of these polities either considering what it says about Akiton.

I still really like the image of Navasi :) ... i still think her right hand looks weird though.

Is a Moof Milker higher or lower in status than a Nerf Herder? Can we FAQ this already or do we need to wait for the game to be released?

Poor Akiton :( But its been "several centuries" since your old market was lost due to new technology, get your act together and re-focus people! Presumably there was a lot of wealth there when they were a hub of ship technology, why did no one think to prepare for the future once the Drift entered the scene?

The Kasatha! yay! weren't they originally from far outside the Golarion system though? i am curious how a large enough population moved in to make them a common, core, race. Maybe this is something that happened during the Gap? i hope not though, it could be a cool bit of setting history.

I hadnt thought of this part, Androids are only recently been granted freedom. Are they still being manufactured? Are they dwindling or a growing population now? How are they as a race viewed by the AI god, how do they view the AI god themselves? lots of interesting potential there, cant wait to see what else you all do with them!

Eox sounds like a very Babylon 5 style "first ones" sort of place. They place nice in the Pact Worlds but had planet destroying super weapons thousands of years before the thousands of years ago that was the Pathfinder setting. I kind of expect them to have super-magi-tech at this point but be extremely secretive about it to prevent abuse from the "younger" races. Undead politicians who arent overtly evil... yup, going to use them a lot :)

Well they shouldn't have really expected better from a crappy place like Polygon, should have gone with somewhere like Rock Paper Shotgun who has a much more compatible user base.

Awesome. :)

Maybe, but there's also something to be said for preaching to people not predisposed towards your message. For some people on Polygon, Starfinder might be the first tabletop RPG that they run across.

I suspect we'll see some Starfinder news on RPS eventually as well, but honestly, why not target places where you might potentially expand the hobby?

As usual, I am both excited and nervous about Starfinder.

I couldn't stop thinking about General Grievous after the space samurais. Now I'm even more certain that the Kasatha are going to be my main race.

I hadn't noticed the incredibly similar face shape before now. That's a compelling point you make there.

I own it, read it, and ran it as is and I'm fairly against what they did with Iomedae. As were my players. People forget that she does attack your players when they take too long (or act too quickly) to decide on one of her trials.

But that's off topic and idk why it was brought up.
