I actually really dislike the "you can make statistics say whatever you want" attitude, because it's not exactly true. Anybody who knows anything about statistics can tear apart that sort of misrepresentation with ease. It's just, y'know, you have to look at them critically. Leaning too heavily on "never trust statistics" produces a society that mistrusts facts, and such nations are dangerous.
