So has anyone gotten the NES Mini?

If they made another one or an add on with 30 more NES games, what games would you like to see?

I would like to see:

Battle of Olympus
Blaster Master
Bucky O'Hare
Castlevania 3
Crystalis
Double Dragon 1&3
Dragon Spirit
Dragon Quest 1-4
Faria: A World of Mystery and Danger
Godzilla: Monster of Monsters
Little Nemo: The Dream Master
Megaman 1, 3-6
Milon's Secret Castle
Rampage
TMNT 2: The Arcade Game
Willow
Plus all those games based on Disney animated movies/TV shows.

Someone's buying them, we sold out at Toys R Us almost instantly.

Nintendo made a stupidly low number of these things. My buyer tells me another round might be coming up in Dec., but it will also be stupidly low inventory so get ready to pounce if you want one. More to come.

My list of games:
Maniac Mansion
The Guardian Legend
Cobra Triangle
wallstreet kid
casino kid
paperboy
adventure island
Ducktales
Chip n dale rescue rangers
arkanoid
splatterhouse I&II
Marble Madness
jackal
metal gear
bionic commando

I think Ducktales got a upgraded version for the Wii

... I just play the emulation...

I really really really want one, so I hope a lot more are released before Xmas

Ducktales got an upgrade for the PS3&4 as well. I wish the other Disney based NES games got an HD upgrade as well.

Ducktales and chip n Dale's rescue rangers are two of the hardest games I have ever played. Punishing difficulty.

Battletoads wants to meet you.

battletoads wasn't difficult so much as it was poorly programmed in the name of making it harder. Iirc there is one part that NEEDS two players to work, otherwise you will NEVER be able to make it past. To me that's similar to intentionally making a game unbeatable in order to say it is "a challenge". That said, I COULD be wrong, again Iirc, battletoads could be a different gaming experience on different platforms.

Battletoads was awful - far more difficult than either Ducktales or Chip and Dales Rescue Rangers, both of which I beat on my own. 'Toads was too difficult, though not because of a programming glitch - at least not one that was ever notable to me - just simply from being too daggum difficult.

It was unfair, and (after a while) unfun and upsetting... but the game, as a whole, was more enjoyable than most games I never beat (like the horrid Eek! The Cat game) because the mechanics were pretty fun (except for that daggum bike scene... every fifteen tries or so, I'd get a little further - one more ramp, one more wall, one more whatever... ugh!).

Not even Ninja Gaiden or Adventure Island was that tough! I wish I could have beaten it, alas...

After some Internet research it turns out I was wrong - battletoads was impossible to beat with TWO players on some levels.

It turns out battletoads IS beatable. I think I may suck, but I also think it is one of many "win by accident/glitch" games that came out at the time.

Never beat Battletoads. Still loved the hell out of it.

Could beat Super C without losing a life. That was my claim to fame as a kid.

Used to beat goonies2 regularly.

I will NEVER forget when I discovered where the ladder was via a family friends Nintendo power.

Ever.

I still remember the nonsensical song of triumph I sang....

Never played either of the Goonies games.

I remember Contra - I don't know if I played Super Contra. I may be wrong. Whatever it was: I liked the first one.

I'd love to hear Freehold DM's Nonsensical Song of Triumph (as sung by Freehold). :D

My buyer will let me know when Target gets more, but be ready to pounce they are not making a lot more of these this season.

Never played Battletoads or the Goonies games. But I did beat Ducktales and Chip N' Dale's Rescue Rangers.

It's actually on my the list of things I asked my parents to get me for Christmas, so I might not have a whole lot of control in that...

Well if I get a tip on shipments you can pass along that info to them :)

I would like to know. I'd like to show my kids that there's more than Minecraft. :-)

The only ones really missing for me are TMNT 2, Megamsn 3, and Faxanadu.

The Nes mini is a neat idea. I would probably pick one up had I not other options for retro gaming. (I highly recommend folks interested look into the Retro Pie). The thing I find ludicrous is people trying to sell one on Ebay for $5K. Is there really anyone who is that desperate for one of them?

Sovereign Court

You could probably buy all the titles and an old NES for less than 5K I imagine.

Double "yes" to Guardian Legend! I loved that game, and wish you could get it on Virtual Console. Am I the only one who misses the old Pro Wrestling, with Fighter Hayabusa, Starman, and the like?

I hope they will do a mini SNES one day as well.

I loved Pro Wrestling. I could win every fight with starman's boot to the head kick.

Guardian legend is an old favorite of mine. One of many nes games that kept my love of what I later discovered was Japanese animation alive after Robotech disappeared mysteriously from the airwaves.

Now THIS I would buy. I loved the SNES so much.

The Guardian Legend. I think I rented that game multiple times to finally manage to make my way through it. I think beating it was probably the most satisfaction I had in the NES era (though beating the original Castlevania was up there.)

Can you give us some links to this Retro Pie please?

I'm not surprised at all. Ebay flipping has an old tradition behind it.

Yeap, GL was a truly unique experience on NES. One thing I certainly do not miss, however, is writing down massive character passwords to continue my progress.

Gladly,

I made one myself for about $60 total.

Ice hockey should definately make the cut for an hypothetical NES mini 2. That game was just addictive.

Thanks! I appreciate it!

I do have a question. Where do I buy the Games from? I no longer have any of my old games and I try to be as legit as possible unless there is no other way.

What I'd prefer is if they did all the SNES RPGs on a single disc for a current console (sort of what they did with the Sonic Genesis collection for the PS3/Xbox 360 for the old Genesis Games).

I completely understand where you're coming from on that, sadly for many of these there is no really "legit" way to get them, especially the older ones like Commodore 64 and Atari 7200.

I can point you to a site where you can find a lot of them, but you'll have to use your own judgement on whether or not you think it's okay to pull from there as it's a legitimate archive of these things but the practice of using roms is always a grey area at best.

Though if you want it PM me and I'll give you the address.

There is no other way. The technology for the vast majority of these games has ended. Emulation is the only way.

I still break out my old systems once in a blue moon to play the games that have no rerelease available. Like Dragon Force.

DRAGON FORCE!!!!

We need a dependable Saturn emulator.

If they do a mini SNES then I would like to see the following games.

Actraiser 1&2
Breath of Fire 1&2
Chrono Trigger
E.V.O. Search for Eden
Earthbound
Final Fantasy 4-5
King of Monsters 1&2
Kirby Dreamland 3
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Lufia 1&2
Megaman 7
Pocky and Rocky 1&2
Secret of Mana
Super Castlevania 4
Super Mario RPG
Super Mario World
Super Metroid

I literally have all of those on emulator.

Probably. We didn't get a family PC/computer until probably like '87-89. At which time I rocked all the Sierra adventure games....Space/kings/glory/police quests FTW!!!

Freakin 7th Saga. I legit beat that game(with the elf mage character and the robot); one of the toughest RPGs ever made.

I want one of the NES minis but it seems like I'll have to be super lucky. I can't hang around stores right at midnight/opening just in the hope some come in today.

I too would want a SNES mini. Hopefully the success of this one will make that possible, and hopefully they won't be quite as squeamish about making enough of them.

My childhood Nintendo Hard nemesis was Blaster Master. That game is tough. Never was quite able to beat Super Macho Man in Punch Out, either. Did manage to beat Castlevania on the original cartridge, was pretty proud of that one. I can beat Final Fantasy I without grinding, just taking random encounters as they come.

Right now I'm kind of jonesing to replay Metroid and Kid Icarus.

Damn straight. I could only beat it with the evil alien bunny ear guy.

7th Saga!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I prefer the original title for it though...

Did you guys discover the secrets to make Lux the most powerful character in the game?
