"As good as we can be, all things considered. I do hope no more werebears show up if you continue to speak." Although the last sentence was said half jokingly, one noticed the sincerity of Hikage's words.
Codename Hikage |
Hikage will help with checking the bodies and also watches the surroundings for further interlopers.

Each of the bears is dressed them same with the same equipment, except for the last one you took down, on his axe is a crest of some kind, it appears to be a bear taking a bite out of mountain.
Each one has the following, +1 chainmail, +1 heavy wooden shield, +1 battleaxe, shortspear, throwing axes (2), boots of the winterlands, 5 gp, potion of bull's strength, potions of divine favor (3)
Codename Hikage |
"Interesting marking on the leader's axe." Hikage said, meanwhile pondering if he knew anything more about that specific symbol.
Knowledge(local): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Codename Hikage |
"Need to ask Vargo about this later", Hikage mutters while hanging the axe on his belt. "You gather the rest of their gear?" he asks Berry before turning back to the others. He waits for Anowin to continue her tale.
Codename Hikage |
"Well there's that big cave we came from, must be a quiet spot in there somewhere." Hikage said.
Agurah Greywall |
Agurah will nod in agreement That, that is a real secure place, that and if someone was to follow we could bottle neck them at the entrance to the cave.
The Gamemaster |
I was hoping a few other people would post but I'll just jump us ahead.
The group escorts Anowin into the caves, blindfolded. you bring her to Vargo in one of the deep secure cave rooms. The bear chief's eyes fill with rage and he grabs her by the throat slamming her against the wall. He turns his head to look at you. WHY IS SHE HERE? DO YOU KNOW WHO THIS IS? IF SHE TELLS THEM WHERE WE ARE WE'RE ALL DOOMED!
Codename Hikage |
Hikage steps forward trying to at least diffuse the situation enough to not have another possible source of information cut off quite abruptly.
"We're not to keen on it either, but she says she saw the error of working with them." Hikage said, making quotation marks with his hands with that last word. "And to your question, no we do not know who she is. Only her name and that she is partly responsible for a mess that happened at the camp we came from. You seem to know more, so care to elaborate as she hasn't been too forthcoming on that."
Kidhir |
The sandman speaks flatly. "They already know where we are: They sent one assassin to find us in your cave. They have sent three more that are cooling corpses on the edge of the woods. Several of their men were members of your tribe. And they knew enough about you to try to have us kill you... Of course, they already know where you are."
I'll make sure she doesn't have that comm device on her and, just to be safe, we'll leave it somewhere outside of the cave.

Agurah Greywall |
Agurah will blink her grey eyes in confusion before she replys, No, that is the issue here. No one will give us any information. All we know is what we were told which is not much. Considering they tried to kill us twice now..I am not sure what to believe.
The Gamemaster |
Anowin sighs and slumps down the wall. "Alright you all deserve some answers. The people I worked for have been planning this for centuries. Their plan is to use the bear tribes to throw this area of Golarion into chaos. But they won't stop there. They're crazy and they believe they are doing some old gods bidding. If we don't stop them before they complete their ritual then we all die."
Codename Hikage |
@Berry, haven't marked anything on my sheet yet. Only thing I picked up was the +1 battle axe of the leader, which I'm going to show to Vargo at some point during the conversation. I'll also take one set of Boots of the winterlands. I'd say mark the rest on your sheet and we'll see what we do with it later
The Gamemaster |
Anowin looks even more worried if that's possible. I hadn't realized how far these people were willing to go. I thought they just had a vendetta against the bear clans and I was willing to help for a fee but this is all just a part of the big picture. I wasn't told the plan, all I know is that a ritual will be performed in the valley within the next week which will throw all of Golarion into darkness. I can help you get into the valley but I don't know what the ritual is or where it is being performed.
Agurah Greywall |
Interesting... Agurah will muse to herself softly as she listens to the woman talk, Sounds like we would have to do recon work and remain hidden within their ranks possibly. She will murmur to no one in particular.
Codename Hikage |
Hikage follows after Shao Jian. Wonder what's up this time around, he ponders.
Agurah Greywall |
Agurah will follow the party after this once they get close to the commotion she will slip on her ring and become one with the shadows around them to get close and not be noticed.

The Gamemaster |
As you come into view of the valley it is clear something big is happening. People are running around frantically fires re breaking out around the camps, but most noticeably an enormous ring of fire has burned the center of the valley to a crisp. The air inside the circle is crisscrossed with a spider web of thin red cracks. Vargo sees the disturbance and begins calling orders to his men. "EVERYONE, GRAB YOUR WEAPONS, YOUR ARMOR, ANYTHING ELSE YOU MAY NEED. SHAMANS PREPARE YOURSELVES. WE ARE GOING TO CLOSE THAT PORTAL." He turns to you and speaks in a quieter voice. "I need you to go down into the valley and find out whats happening, anything. We need to close that portal."
Shao Jian |
"The fact that he knows exactly what this is suggests he's seen it before and once again failed to tell us about it. Maybe we should just let all of these people die and then get down to business once they're no longer actively hindering our work here."
