Dwarven Urgosh

Rules Questions

I am using the urgosh as a 2 handed weapon, and not 2 weapon fighting with it.
My question is

Would i use the d8 and the d6 stats, or should I use the spear stats for the one side, and axe stats for the other?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

If you're not using Two Weapon Fighting, you choose which end of the weapon you are using; then you add your strength and a half to the damage to that end's damage die.

My Dwarf Bloodrager/Spiritualist uses an Urgrash.

What Selvaxri said. You can also, if you have multiple attacks in a round, switch up what end you're using, which is particularly useful if you need to pierce or slash at a given target as long as you're not going over your regular amount of attacks.

I understand the strength bonus, and the P/S bonus, the question was what set of damage dice should i use?

The Bladed end of the Urgosh is a d8; spear is a d6.

A dwarven urgrosh is a double weapon—an axe head and a spear point on opposite ends of a long haft. The urgrosh's axe head is a slashing weapon that deals 1d8 points of damage. Its spear head is a piercing weapon that deals 1d6 points of damage. You can use either head as the primary weapon. The other becomes the off-hand weapon. If you use an urgrosh against a charging character, the spear head is the part of the weapon that deals damage.

That is what i was looking for. I initially had read that as a light weapon doing d6. Which is why i was asking.

I guess i just miread it. Thanks for the clarification.
