Nexian Channeler and Legendary Spirits

Rules Questions

So I'm rebuilding an old character concept o' mine and I came across the fact that a medium can only have one legendary spirit at a time, my question is does that include the Nex spirit or is it exempt due to the fact that it replaces wholesale the archmage spirit (and therefor becomes the new archmage spirit)? I'm asking because I have an idea for a character that eventually has Abrogail Thrune 1 as a legendary spirit, said character being a man of the Order of the Gate who believes that finding Nex's Spire and the man himself would help impose order through magic through Nex's supreme mastery of magic. Abrogail Thrune 1 being an individual my character would love nothing more than to bargain with for more magical prowess.

The only restriction I found was "If the medium attempts to call another spirit of the legendary spirit’s legend, the legendary spirit similarly departs forever."

Unless there is another more restrictive statement, you should be fine. Nex is an Archmage legend spirit, and Abrogail Thrune I is a Hierophant legend spirit. Your archetype precludes you from summoning any other Archmage legend spirit, and you would permanently lose access to Abrogail Thrune I if you ever summon any Hierophant legend spirit other than her or if you otherwise violate your oath to her. Nex does not appear to impose any restrictions on your conduct other than voluntarily accepted taboos.

On the AoN by the spirit names the PFS symbol (or whatever it is) it says you can have only one at a time, however no such symbol with the pop-up text exists over the Nex spirit which is why I am slightly confused.

That "only one Legendary Spirit" rule appears to come from PFS's Additional Resources document for Occult Realms. So, if you are playing PFS, you cannot channel both Nex and Abrogail Thrune I. In a home game, you are fine unless your GM decides that he likes the PFS rule as a house rule.

Ah, good to know.
