I would like to call dibs on an Unchained Monk//Warpriest Combo.. just saying.
A classic combo. If the point buy/attributes are high enough, I might go with a very odd combo of Alchemist/Inquisitor to fit a character concept I already have.
Parts of it work pretty well together, but for the most part it's just the best thing to fit the concept. If it doesn't work out, I might just go big on the "huge nerd" and maybe be some sort of alchemist/wizard. But I'd rather go the more trickster-y route.

I'll bow out then. :) Good luck!
Damn, I would have liked to play along with mdt.
I am interested both in Wrath of the righteous or Mummy mask.
For Wrath an adaptation of this character from another campaign should work. Redoing him following whatever generation rules you use should be easy.
I know the outline of both campaigns, but nothing specific.
Anon A Mouse |
I'd be interested. Though if it's Mummy's Mask, your "no going past book 1" excludes me since I've played through the entire thing (although the game I was in kind of glossed over most of the plot, which is a bit sad because I hear it was pretty good...). My first leaning for a character would be my pacifist healer idea that would probably be an oracle/bard. Though if a pacifist would be hard I have a couple of other ideas.
Sylvanus, TFK |
As I said earlier I'd be up for either game, so I've been throwing around ideas in my head about what I would play. In the end, if it would be okay with the GM, I'd love to take on the rogue role with a Drow Swashbuckler/Ninja using my first 3 feats to get Drow Nobility, Improved Drow Nobility, and Greater Drow Nobility which will allow me to use the spell Deeper Darkness at will and sneak our party out of things we might not be able to handle. I tried this once with a plain Drow Ninja and it was very effective, but unfortunately that game died before the fun could really begin.
Fury of the Tempest |
Dotting, as this most definitely has my interest.
A bit I don't have access to 3rd Party Material. As I've recently fell in love with a Unchained Rogue/Dervish Defender Warder combination.
Will have to see what else can go well with the Unchained Rogue... the Scout Archetype means that I won't really need help to get the Sneak Attacks off, and the Thug means I can sicken anyone I sneak Attack... what else is there to help a Fear Build I wonder?

He said races would only be core and a few selected others.
Anyway, I hope this gets going. It's been a several days since Chess has posted anything here... Hopefully he's just busy getting ready.
I still wonder about whether we'll be able to play prestige classes. I'm also curious what Chess thinks of summoner. One of the concepts I'm considering involves synthesist, another involves master summoner.
The Chess |
It will be quite a while until I can actually start the recruitment for it - at least 3 or 4 weeks, I'd say. I like to have things well prepared. Prestige classes are fine. Summoners, synthesists of master summoners, won't work because I'll use unchained rules for summoners and the archetypes aren't compatible.
Ouachitonian |
I'm thinking of a Paladin of Apsu, the other half being a draconic Sorcerer or Bloodrager. The charisma synergy works well, and why wouldn't the dragon god's Paladins have dragon blood flowing in their veins?
Alternatively, an Archery Ranger/Eldritch Archer Magus seems like it could be fun. Prodice Flame is a spell I've always thought would go great with spell strike (via Broad Study). Throw in rapid shot, and there's fiery arrows everywhere!

Remember it'll also take quite a while for people to make characters, for many several weeks. It might be an idea to open it up a bit earlier then spend time preparing while people are busy making characters. Of course it's your game so you can do it in whatever order you want ;).
I guess I won't be going with the summoner idea then. I can't bring myself to play the watered down version after having a taste of the real thing.

The one thing that may take a while is Leadership feat, at 10th thats no so bad, but making all them followers.
GM is Leadership, in or out as a feat?
Go a mad idea but want to know if it would be allowed before I get started.
He is a Gnome entertainer come puppet maker, who has a troop of soul powered dolls. He caries them in a bag of holding that also holds his workshop.
Name: Professor Finbar Mc-Milligon
Class: Milti, core cleric.
Vrog Skyreaver |
dotting for interest as well, since I've been wanting to play a higher level campaign and just missed this posting.
I would vote for mummy's mask, mainly because managing mythic and gestalt can lead to alot of fiddly bits that can cause incongruities, especially when combined with normal character options from 2 completely different builds.
I will probably build a Lorewarden Fighter/Student of war | Ranger/Horizon Walker
ReZa Furskin |
This is a character that i made for a game a while back. I made her to be a controller, where her magic would basically shut down the opponent. She is currently level to level 3, but can easily be leveled up.
ReZa is a Kitsune Bard Mesmerisist. She will play as someone who is sly about her abilities and her race, disguising herself most of the time as a human female.
Lornis |
I would be quite interested by Mummy's Mask! I can picture myself a Pahmet Dwarf Unchained Monk-Living Monolith/ Spiritualist who summons the spirit of the first Pahmet Dwarf, or the spirit of an ancient Pharaon, or even a sphinx (just in term of flavor). And he will be able to grow in size as his flesh turns to stone, and go full attack on the enemy of Osirion! With a Huge Spirit on him, like an armor, and he will be called Abu-Zakir, The Voice of the Sands.
The Chess |
I already posted that it's going to take quite a while until I prepare and create a formal recruitment thread - probably closer to the beginning of next year. While the excitement here about my proposal is invigorating, constantly posting won't make me go any faster. At the moment, I'm even debating going towards something fully homebrew instead of one of the APs. In any case or scenario, however, I still don't have proposed rules, adventure or even the start level well defined (level 10 is more like a guess). Feel free to keep using the thread to talk about mid to high level gestalt games you'd like to see around, but please don't expect me to be here listing rules or a proper recruitment any time soon.
Fury of the Tempest |
Must of missed the fact that it would be taking you THAT long until you would be able to make a recruitment. Sorry about that.
But yeah, without proper rulings, it is a little tricky to make characters. I know some people are pretty excited for it, and would love to run a character they've done in a past through an AP, but I think its best that we just wait patiently for the recruitment to be published and the rules fully established.
glibness |
Dotting. I know you said it would been awhile until you have anything ready to go but I have a ton of interest in this. I've been wanting to run a high level high powered Bard. Yes Bard I have a way to make them amazing. I would vote for Way of the Wicked and I have all the books except for the second one that I would be happy to share with you (not a bribe I'll send them to you either way if that's what you decide to run).
The Chess |
I actually decided to go with a whole different concept - I hope you guys don't mind. If anyone still wants to run this interest check here, though, please feel free. I myself would probably submit a character as well :)

PvP is also terrible over PBP due to the fact that, especially with magic users, there are a lot of additional rolls that need to be made to either defend or negate the attack. Also since these are one-on-one PvP battles you are either going to have multiple arenas going on at once, which can get very confusing for both you and the players, or one arena battling at a time, meaning everyone else is just sitting back waiting for their turn and losing interest in the game. Unless someone wants to pick up this thread as a GM, I think I'm done.
Fury of the Tempest |
... Yeah. Here's hoping we actually get someone willing to do what they said they'll do.
I tried PvP before, and it failed abysmally. Got kicked out of the arena because they couldn't accept the fact I called them out on their shit (Asked for help, got no help, got curb stomped in a match, got told my build was shit)
