The bottom of a Bag of Holding...

Rules Questions

Ok.... The wondrous searching upon Google over a ruling as picked my interest.

I found one of the best ways in carrying a lot of arrows was through a Bag of Holding and/or a Handy Haversack with only one snag:

If a bag of holding is overloaded, or if sharp objects pierce it (from inside or outside), the bag immediately ruptures and is ruined, and all contents are lost forever.

Would there be a way to 'buffer' the inside bottom of the bag to help prevent this?

You could buffer the arrows by putting them in a special device called a 'quiver.'
:-)

I know... Just on the off chance that they would spill out of said quiver.

Well, the inside of the bag is a finite, albeit large, surface. I see no reason you couldn't get a non-magic bag of tough material made that just covered it (on the inside) and affix it to the bag of holding with paper clips (since you can't sew them together). Darkleaf cloth, maybe?

Cool... I was thinking along the same lines (although going with just a blanket).

I'm building a lv 15 Magus (Eldritch Archer) for an arena-esque charity game, where watchers [just found out it will be live-streamed on youtube XD] can donate money in which something 'triggers' for the players. (i.e 'random' enlarge person here, Mad monkeys there, or summon a ahem... *pulls out the list and puts on reading glasses* oh right... a Kraken for $10.00)

Long story short, I didn't want the off chance that something happened within said bag. Thanks.

My ranger has an efficient quiver which he uses in combat, between combats he will refill the EQ with quivers he keeps in his bag of holding. Our group agreed that when not equipped a quiver includes a cap of sorts to keep the arrows/bolts contained. Part of the move action to ready the quiver is putting it on your back and undoing the cap. Something like this. http://i.imgur.com/XhJVLq2.jpg

An idea I have heard for ninjatype archers is having a block of cork in the bottom of the quiver. Keeps the arrows in place for upsidedown sniping and acrobatics.

Darkleaf cloth lining has the advantage of protecting it from other pointy contents as well as arrows.

Well... an extradimensional space has no reason to jostle when the bag is jostled. It wouldn't be a problem to store pointy things so long as you do not putanything new into the bag. By the same token, a bag of holding may be your best bet to get down from a massive fall alive.

If there is a chance they would spill out of a quiver then anything could happen.
