Advice

So my group is now in Almas way ahead of schedule and while that is fine I am a little behind on some of my planning. So I am wanting some help. I have the three books on Andoran but there is limited information in them concerning what I am wanting.

Are there are any pathfinder society modules that take place in the cities of Andoran or Augustana? Or maybe some modules that could easily be altered that fit in either of those cites?

Any information anyone has either found or made up considering the Peoples Council would be greatly appreciated. That is definitely going to be a major focus of my group. They are planning to end up in front of the whole council.

They have said that they are wanting to speak with Talmandor, the avoral who is the spiritual patron of Andoran. I am more than happy to set this up but I am not sure how to do so. They are level eight so they lack the ability to use their own magic to summon him and I doubt Talmandor will just appear when anyone calls him. I assume he is a busy critter. While a patron of Andoran he still has other things he has to do but he would be very interested in what has been going on in Andoran once he learns of it. So what would be some of the ways that he could be called?

What are some fun things that could happen in a marketplace in a metropolis like Almas? My group is finally going to get to spend some of there money and we enjoy roleplaying some of the shopping. This has proved to be a really good way for the group to get a little more invested in the town that they are in and they have, due to some good rolls, gotten some weird and custom items.

Thank you in advance,
DAA

First of all, Adventure Finder by Region: Andoran may be your friend for finding a bit more info.

RE: Talmandor. There are all of the appropriate ways - going on quests in their name, attempting to get their attention via doing appropriate deeds, etc. There's also the less imaginative, but possibly equally effective way of having someone cast a Sending spell. Long-distance call, will you respond? :)

RE: Marketplace encounters. Rival adventurers, pick-pockets, extra planar predators, mimics, incoming teleport mishaps, incremental weather conditions, awakened animals, alchemical mishaps, duels, bored city guards, impromptu foot races, yelling competition between rival vendors, marriage proposals, small children or halflings falling down wells (bonus points if their dog/wolf animal companion tries to come get the PCs for help), spies, mercenary recruiters, drinking contests, plague victims, street preachers, lovers quarrels, lost/kidnapped children, protection racket thugs / union organizers, parades / processions...

... wait, there's probably a thread for 101 or 1,001 or some such of these somewhere on the Paizo boards...

... and you're welcome :)

Thank you TimD.

The adventure finder should be very helpful. Now I just need payday.

With Talmandor I know they could buy spells but that is the easy way and easy is not my groups style.

Hehe mimics in the marketplace :) That would be hilarious. I am sure there is a thread like that out there I would just need to find it. But you have a very respectable list. Thank you'

dot, this is a great link thanks TimD

Damn, TimDs kind of answered most of it. Guess I could give a few little scenarios that could take place in a large metropolis. Firstly, a classic: Escaped, conveniently massive level appropriate animal, or group of animals. Something absurd, like a dragon, would obviously be pretty unlikely, but a dire tiger or girallon or something like that escaping a merchants cage and going on a rampage might not be to unfeasible. Another classic could be a string of mysterious murders taking place in the city, either in the upper class or lower class of citizens. This one's good because it's both fairly long running and versatile. It could be any number of creatures, or it could be somehow tied to an overarching storyline in the campaign. Finally, a shop the PCs enter to buy things turns out to be a front for illegal operations, such as slave trade (Not to brushed up on the laws in Andoran or Augustana, but it's a safe bet), drug dealings (So many different types of drugs you can homebrew easily), or something of a more magical nature, like the components for evil rituals and the like. Again, there's many different options here, and while it could just end with that shop, it could also lead them into conflict with some underground organization operating in the city.

Scribbling notes! (I hope you don't mind someone peeking over your shoulder, DAA!)

The Skeptical Gnome I like the way you think. Those could be a lot of fun. Thank you.

bitter lily I certainly do not mind. I do it all the time!

Well, did some research on Talmandor, so I'd say I can give a few ways to contact him. Firstly: Talmandor is considered the voice of the three principle deities in the region: Erastil, Iomedae, and Shelyn. As such, it seems like asking a priest to try and commune with him may be a good way to go about contacting him. Secondly, and the more expensive of the two options, acquire a plane shift to heaven (The plane) and visit him at his home, the somewhat arrogantly named Soaring Palace of Talmandor the Golden.

That is an arrogant name. And those are two really good way to do it. I have not even considered that they could visit him. This is good. Thank you!
