Is Nagaji Hypnotic Gaze useful?

Advice

I am making a Nagaji Eldritch Scion with a Pseudodragon familiar and am wondering if the Hypnotic Gaze alternate racial trait is worth giving up +2 perception and +2 handle animal vs reptiles? (Are pseudodragons reptiles?)

Hypnotism vs 1 creature of 2d4HD or less that only lasts 1 round...

I don't think it is that good, yeah. Mind you, while pseudodragons are reptiles, they are not animals (or magical beasts with intelligence of 2 or lower) and I think handle animal will not work on them.

Pseudodragons are not reptiles. They are dragons. Reptiles are animals. Dragons are dragons.

Maybe I worded it incorrectly, but I don't mean to use the gaze on my familiar.

Eldritch Scion is a Magus archetype that uses CHA instead of INT, perfect for a Nagaji. I have 1 GM credit for the character that includes a boon to be able to get a Pseudodragon familiar at 5th level instead of 7th.

That is all there is right now.

This is my first Nagaji and I am just wondering if the alternate racial trait is of any use and if it is worth what it trades out or not?

I don't consider Hypnotic Gaze worth while.

I'd say Hypno Gaze is great for the first couple levels, and flavorful afterwards (but the save DC isn't great at higher levels).

And you're not going to use handle animal much. So you can trade a minor boost to perception for a flavorful ability; that's a decent deal.
