In order to discard the Galvanic Chakram +1 to add 1d6, you must first have revealed it to use your Dexterity or Ranged skill and add the Electricity trait et al. Playing a Blessing of Horus does give two dice because the check has the electricity trait.

For your combat check, reveal this card to use your Dexterity or Ranged skill + 1d8+1; you may additionally discard this card to add another 1d6.
If proficient with weapons, discard this card to ignore a non-villain monster's power that happens before you act.
If proficient with weapons, on your combat check, if you played another weapon, discard this card to add 1d4+1 and the Electricity trait.
There is no way to play Galvanic Chakram +1 to add dice to a check without also adding the Electricity trait. Even if it was meant to refer to the knife 1d4+1 instead of the additional 1d6 from the first power, it still gets the trait.

The original poster deleted his post. There's no reason to argue about combat checks using this weapon Electricity since it is a trait on the weapon. And using it as bonus damage also adds Electricity. I don't see a need for a FAQ.
?? The OP is pointing out an error in a rulebook example. Looks like there is an error.

I'm sorry. Glitch of my browser; didn't see Malcolm's post. You're correct. The rulebook is incorrect because of what I said. However, that should be fixed when they post the rulebook I hope!
