Gunslinger's Menacing Shot --- What kind of action?

Rules Questions

This ability for the Gunslinger class doesn't state what kind of action it takes to use Menacing Shot.

Can you use it anytime you make a firearm attack? So if you had 4 attacks, can you use 4 grit and use it 4 times?

Or does it use a Standard Action as if it were a spell-like ability?

You can't use it as part of an attack; it is its own thing. Standard action is the default for abilities, and this looks like one to me.

Using a special ability is usually a standard action, but whether it is a standard action, a full-round action, or not an action at all is defined by the ability...

Extraordinary Abilities (Ex): Using an extraordinary ability is usually not an action because most extraordinary abilities automatically happen in a reactive fashion. Those extraordinary abilities that are actions are usually standard actions that cannot be disrupted, do not require concentration, and do not provoke attacks of opportunity.

Since Menacing Shot is an extraordinary ability with an undefined action, unlike most of the other deeds, you use standard action by default.
