what classes are there that improve / use / add natual attacks?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

i know of two the alchemist (dragonblood chymist) and the fighter (savage warrior) are there any others? and if i decided to be a barbarian (mooncursed) and i have a feat that gives a bite attack would the feat still work?

thanks

Liberty's Edge

There are barbarian powers that give natural attacks, the toothy feat for descendants of orcs, some bloodlines for sorcerers and blood ragers. I've also heard about a natural attack Ranger, but I can't recall if it was an archetype that gave natural attacks or just a build that focused on improving natural attacks from some other source. Also, saving the best for last, the druid can be VERY natural attack focused.

Barbarians, rangers, some bloodlines, and Dragon Disciple.

Synthesist, if your game permits the archetype.

Scarab Sages

A ring of rat fangs is a dirt cheap way of getting a bite attack, and since it is a magic item it should work regardless of form.

Liberty's Edge

If third party classes are permitted, you might check out the Skin-Changer class in the New Paths Compendium from Kobold Press

The Advanced Player's Guide offered a natural weapons style for rangers, plus the Shifter archetype and the feat Aspect of the Beast.

Dragonblood chemist should not be counted.

It is basically just a regular alchemist build, but watered down in a ton of ways. Everything it gives you can be obtained through an existing discovery, and since it eats your discoveries too, it is basically giving you a forced build that isn't worth it.

Just take a normal alchemist with the feral mutagen. Maybe make it a beast morph so you can grab a rake attack for an extra 2 claws while pouncing.

Anyway, one REALLY important class to discuss in this is the evangelist. This is a prestige class based around the deific obedience feat. Now, before the word 'prestige class' scares you off... this one is notable because it is basically like not taking a prestige class at all.

This is because it allows you to continue to level up your main class' abilities, no matter what the class is. After a one level hiccup, you are basically just taking your main class, but switching out BAB, saves, skills, etc. So it is pretty much completely safe to take this class.

Now, evangelist does add a few notable additions on top of your main class' abilities. The capstone at level 10 (level 15 at the earliest) is a special transformation that gives various benefits. Besides the stat bonuses (like getting a rage), it also lets you pick one out of a selection of special abilities. The most notable is that it will let you grab an extra natural attack, as well as an appropriate limb to use it with. They are all primary attacks, so there is little mechanical difference... but I'd prefer grabbing a tail with sting over extra arms or heads.

So general points for evangelist:
-lets you continue your main class, removing a main argument against prestige classes. Stacks with almost anything else suggested in this thread
-gives you an extra natural attack and big stat bonuses.

It is something to aim for on natural attack builds. As long as your natural attacks outnumber your iteratives, you are fine. And this is a great way to do that. So grab bite/claw/claw, and maybe look for something else that gives another natural attack... and you are golden.

Talons are to feet what claws are to hands.

Hoof attack.

Surprised Pathfinder hasn't yet come up with a universal monster ability or feat for REALLY STINKY feet . . . .

And usually, those are pretty hard to get.

An animal totem tattoo can do it though. That is a magic item (kinda slotless; tattoos work off an entirely parrallel slot system to normal magic items) allows you to copy the totemic transformation abilities of a 5th level druid with one of the shaman archetypes (a variety of druids that focus on a single type of animal). That means you can use it for 5 minutes per day, in 1 minute increments (...or 5 fights, basically; few fights last more than a 10 rounds)

Pick eagle shaman, and you can get a bite attack and two talons. It also has options to improve perception or give flight. So overall, a great magic item.

Costs 12,000, and tattoos need their own craft feat though. Otherwise, it would be something I would always aim for.

thanks for the info everyone!

Also Helm of the Mammoth Lord to gore attack, Brazen Hooves to hoof attack and maybe Cloak of the Manta Ray to tail slap attack.
