Amulet of Proof Against Detection and Location is the canonical (though imperfect) solution for that.

If a divination spell is attempted against the wearer, the caster of the divination must succeed on a caster level check (1d20 + caster level) against a DC of 19 (as if the wearer had cast nondetection on herself).

The warded creature or object becomes difficult to detect by divination spells such as clairaudience/clairvoyance, locate object, and detect spells.
Despite the name (and the first line of the description, which is a summary and not a mechanic) the actual effect of the amulet is pretty general.

Get a Ring of Mind Shielding:
The wearer is continually immune to detect thoughts, discern lies, and any attempt to magically discern her alignment.
The ring [8K] prevents Detect Evil working 24/7.
The spells Appearance of Life and Fleshy Facade both give a save vs. detect undead.
Maybe get the GM to modify the ring to swap Detect Undead for Detect Thoughts?
Note: the smite still works, but the paladin may not know to use it.
