War Priest Rules Clarifications

Rules Questions

Dark Archive

Rules Questions I had based on the following advice thread:

http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2tyap?War-Priest-Archer-Build-Advice#23

1. The Archives of Nethys state that the Warpriest is only legal with blessings form his deities' domain but that the Arsenal Chaplain archetype has to pick war even if his deity does not provide it. So is it PFS legal to use the Arsenal Chaplain archetype with Erastil (who doesn't have the war domain) just so I can grab the Deadeye Bowman trait (i.e., does one take precedence over the other?).

2. If I do take empty quiver style, do I get the weapon training bonus for longbows in melee with my bow, or only if I take the 9th level weapon training bump to whatever weapon category heavy maces are?

3. For my level 1/2 character re-build in PFS can I also change my race (i.e., be a human then change to half-orc for level 2)? I'm really fence sitting on which race I would prefer (Human gives me a bonus feat so I have the precise shot feat in level 1, but half-orcs will have a bonus to saves, dark vision, extra hp, etc.). Being a half-orc would mean eating a -4 penalty until level 3 when I can take the precise shot feat (i.e., 3-6 months of play).

While I can't vouch specifically on PFS, this looks legal. Also, Nethys says the Molthuni Arsenal Chaplain is PFS legal.

Empty Quiver Style is not sufficient to allow you to do this, I believe. However, Empty Quiver Flexibility will permit you to apply your bonus to your melee attacks.

I cannot comment on 3 without being familiar without PFS rebuild rules.

1) yes, the archetype gives you war blessing instead of picking blessings from your deity.

3) yes. before you lock in your character by playing it at 2nd level you can change any aspect of it, including race.

You need Empty Quiver Flexibility to apply your weapon training to the melee attack. Once you have Empty Quiver Flexibility, though, the only difference between your melee attacks and ranged attacks with your longbow will be which ability score you use for the attack roll.
