Hi all. I'm new to these boards, but I was told they are a good place to host campaigns, so I wanted to see if anyone was interested in a homebrew idea I had.
It's set in the Animorphs universe. If you've never read the novels, just ask me about any questions you have.
The player party will be Yeerks - the bad guys, mind-controlling brain parasitic slug aliens - who have just fled Earth after the climactic final battle. The Yeerks lost. The human bandits that made use of Andalite shapeshifting technology blew up the massive Yeerk pool your race had secretly built within their city. Andalite reinforcements were called in from the depths of space to intervene in your formerly-secret invasion of Earth.
Your ship was damaged fleeing Earth's orbit by an Andalite frigate, and you have crash-landed on an unknown world many light-years from Earth or any other planet you know of. Fortunately, the Kandrona Ray Pool - the restoration chamber that all Yeerks must use every 72 hours - survived the crash intact.
Now the Andalite filth have landed on the same planet, seeking you out to finish you off. The enmity between your races is deep and bitter.
Your mission:
1) Find new host bodies to replace the ones that were destroyed in the crash
2) Get off this planet
A) Steal the Andalite vessel OR
B) Find or steal the parts needed to repair your own ship from the natives of this planet
3) Find and rejoin the Yeerk Armada to continue your glorious campaign of interstellar conquest
Rules-wise, I'm going to be using the same system used in Dungeon World and Apocalypse World. To do something that you have a chance of failure at, roll 2d6+ the stat that you're using for that action, like Charisma for lying or Intelligence for hacking. I want the rules to be light and generalistic so they don't get in the way of the story.
If I knew the systems I would freaking love this but I have no experience with Dungeon or Apocalypse world.
