Question: Animal companion of Hunter's archetype: Primal Companion Hunter

Rules Questions

So I have a player that wants to play with this class in our next campaign, but i'm not sure about the thing with the evolutions of the animal companion. Does he gets the evolution points as noted and can use them to give his animal companion any evolution that he has enough points for? Or does he have to chose the evolutions beforehand ?

Unlike the evolutions from primal transformation, this evolution is not set; it can be changed each time the hunter uses this ability.

The evolutions from primal transformation are set, and work as an Eidolons evolutions - you can change them when you level up.
