Does Titan Mauler allow you to use large two-handed guns

Rules Questions

I have an idea to make a Barbarian Gunslinger who specializes in big booms.

The firearm FAQ states:
Specifically in the case of firearms, a Medium character can’t use a two-handed firearm sized for a Large or larger creature, and a Small character can’t use a two-handed firearm sized for a Medium or larger creature

However, the Titan Mauler syas:
Massive Weapons (Ex): At 3rd level, a titan mauler becomes skilled in the use of massive weapons looted from her titanic foes. She can use two-handed weapons meant for creatures one size category larger, but the penalty for doing so is increased by 4. However, the attack roll penalty for using weapons too large for her size is reduced by 1, and this reduction increases by 1 for every three levels beyond 3rd (to a minimum of 0). This ability replaces trap sense.

Would A Titan Mauler Gunslinger be able to use a large 2-handed musket, bypassing the standard rules regarding large firearms.

First you need to understand these rules in context:

PRD wrote:
Inappropriately Sized Firearms: You cannot make optimum use of a firearm that is not properly sized for you. A cumulative –2 penalty applies on attack rolls for each size category of difference between your size and the size of the firearm. If you are not proficient with the firearm, a –4 nonproficiency penalty also applies. The size of a firearm never affects how many hands you need to use to shoot it, the exception being siege firearms and Large or larger creatures. In most cases, a Large or larger creature can use a siege firearm as a two-handed firearm, but the creature takes a –4 penalty for using it this way because of its awkwardness.

Inappropriately Sized Firearms: Does this rule (page 136) allow a Medium or smaller creature to use larger firearms of any size?

The text of the rule is, "The size of a firearm never affects how many hands you need to use to shoot it." The intent of that rule was to prevent a Medium character from using a Small rifle as a one-handed pistol; it wasn’t intended to let a Medium character use a Large, Huge, Gargantuan, or Colossal two-handed firearm as a two-handed weapon. Just like with non-firearms, a creature cannot wield a weapon that’s far too big or small for it. Specifically in the case of firearms, a Medium character can’t use a two-handed firearm sized for a Large or larger creature, and a Small character can’t use a two-handed firearm sized for a Medium or larger creature.

What the PRD means, and what the FAQ clarifies, is that while the number of hands required to shoot a firearm doesn't change, the size limitations on weapons too big or too small to use remain. That is, a large two-handed firearm or huge one-handed firearm would be to big for a medium character to use, and a tiny one-handed firearm or diminutive two-handed firearm would be to small. The FAQ isn't a special rule for firearms so much as a reminder of the normal rules which still apply.

So, yes, a Titan Mauler could wield a large two-handed firearm.

It looks like the difference is that a smaller riffle would still need two hands to shoot and an oversized pistol would still only need one hand to shoot. (I assume using two fingers instead of one, ha ha) This is the exception that might confuse some and the probable reason for the FAQ

I'm more curious how a Medium creature somehow uses a Tiny rifle with two hands when it's a quarter of the size he's used to.

Considering he has to use some kind of improvised tool to reach under the dime-sized trigger guard... very carefully.

Since I see that you're a PFS player I feel obligated to tell you that:

No Large or larger firearm is available for purchase.

Just in case that's what you were thinking.

going by paizo rules no, going by the rules of the person who created the achetype in the 1st place yes so as long as your dm is willing to house rule the original intent on the achetype then you should be fine

One hand over the barrel as the other uses a pinch to pull the trigger? Two Hands needed to steady the thing while doing so?

If its a home game. it would be amusing to see if they'd let you use a culverin. Although in general not that good for the weight Still terribly hilarious imagery though
