Interest Check: Kingmaker Rebuilt

Recruitment

51 to 100 of 103 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | 3 | next > last >>

Seems like a lot of competition for Spymaster, maybe I'll go ruler or councilor. Maybe a Bard...

Alternatively I could go Bard/Sorcerer ranged/debuff/face

* What kind of Ability Scores generation would this use?

* Allowed Races?

* Templates?

* DnD 3.5 Unearted Arcana's Generic Classes?

My face character will be kitsune trickster/lotus geisha bard

Want to go for Master Spy

Entertainer and story teller.

Definitely interested will be looking for the recruitment thread.

Liberty's Edge

I would lean towards an Investigator/Witch or a Swashbuckler/Bard (double dervish), I just can't choose, love both those builds.

@Edgar. I'm not intending to step on any toes. I'm sure with as much interest has been shown there will be plenty of overlapping submissions.

Instead of Norgorber, might I interest you in Ealdeez, The Beast Behind the Dream? :3

I still want to play a kingmaker game, i have wanted to ever since i first read the players guide for it, and i'm always down for a gestalt game.

i'm thinking of an arcanist/alchemist character; someone that travels to the lands in order to do some less-well-accepted experiments.

Silver Crusade

Lots of interest.. Inquisitor of Kelinahat (Empyreal Lord of Spies, intelligence and stealth) and maybe Swashbuckler.. Noble Fencer here for lots of Intrigue

I've actually wanted to rock a Swordlord for a while, could be quite fun paired with rogue or something!

That's what I was thinking of too, actually. Swordlord Fighter/Phantom Thief Unchained Rogue. All the skills, all the feats, can be mostly DEX-SAD due to the unchained rogue's finesse training. And you can even get some magic, since the Phantom Thief can take Minor Magic and Major Magic as often as they like. A Milanite, eager to free his fellow Swordlords from the yoke of Brevoy.

Though Swordlord/Magus (perhaps Kensai) sounds fun too.

Oh, this looks sweet. Question: I'm currently participating in a different heavily-modded KM campaign. Will that be a problem?

Ooh, I have an idea for a vigilante inquisitor...

If it isn't, I've been toying with the idea of a mindblade kensai magus/inspired blade swashbuckler...

That would be sweet as hell. Unfortunately, Reaper of Secrets is deity locked unless the GMs allows me some flexibility. I'm also waiting to see the creation rules for characters, It'd be nice if I could fit in a trick weapon somehow.

Silver Crusade

Oh I forgot about that archetype >_<

Hmm, there is the Ripsaw Glaive.

There are a few possible trick weapons. Ideally, I'd like to be able to use the WMH rules for creating new weapons to put something together.

I've been wanting to do something with the new starknife feat, and this seems a very appropriate campaign for that, what with all the social aspects and everything.

I have a few other ideas I could go for too, though.

Dark Archive

Rule it, no no. I want to own it.

*Dot*

I shall return tomorrow with a concept!

My plan is to be a mixture of consistent melee damage, rogue skills, and a bit of face, at the very least the defensive half via Sense Motive. Once Studied Combat comes online at level 4, Udo will be super accurate in combat, especially with Swift Study, so I'll likely be adding in some of the Investigator Talents that debuff on-hit on studied targets, for a little bit of debuffing without an extra action cost.

It's a tough choice between infusion and mutagen for me at level 3. Actually, now that I think of it...I could take both. Underworld Inspiration is also tempting for me... Too many good choices, I'm amazed I've never looked at Investigator before.

If possible I could dust off my catfolk cavalier.

will it be Play by Posts or something else?

Oh lovely GM I am actually rather interested in playing an Oracle, specifically with the Seer archetype. Assume you would be ok with having a character who sees vision of the future and are willing to do some stuff with it. This is something that I have always wanted to play with but most GM's never want to bother with something like that. I am thinking I would mix it with some kind of Cavalier.

The oracle part came into being with a vision of maybe a town being attacked and she was able to give them enough forewarning to prepare for the attack and chase them off.

Would something like that work for you?

dotting for a occultist/vigilante who has an eye towards being a ruler, as he has circumstantial evidence that he is related to the Rogarvia itself, but nothing that would be considered proof (I plan on taking the bastard trait).

Sorry, I'm not going to fight another GM for players. Check back in November.

The Exchange

I can already tell ya, I'm still interested, and likely will be still in November. I'll likely not be applying to the other game; I'm much more interested in the direction this one appeared to be going in.

Also I'm sure there will be plenty of quality submissions for both. Much like Edgar my preference would be for this game as I'd love a shot at gestalt KM. Of course it's up to you but I'd say go for it

You do know that is just dumb. You aren't fighting for players. There is like a recruitment for some sort of Kingmaker every single week. Anyone can create a game of it.

I agree, the two games would be played different. Even if you picked someone who also happened to get into the other game wouldn't change much. I wouldn't worry so! ^_^ You could very well have someone put in for both yet have two vastly different characters!

Or are these threads only for the attention they give you?

Try to have a little dignity, folks...

Just curious, would your alternate social focus lessen the nature/fey focus that is apparently a big part of the normal KM?

There are so many players that want kingmaker, DMs need to hold them off with an interposing hand , i think several at once is not a problem

Sorry to hear about that. I don't necessarily agree with the decision, but hopefully I'll catch it when you repost in a few months.

Having had a night to sleep on it, I will be changing my submission a bit to a kineticist/vigilante.

I was really looking forward to ranger/wizard(transmuter) shennanigans Q_Q

Rats, I'd much rather be in this one. I'd be willing to bet there will be more applicants than both can take together.

Liberty's Edge

I've set myself on Phantom Thief/Arcanist, ready for almost any position, likely the Master of Magic or however he's called.

Spy master etc. :) thats what her skills will reflect. =^^=

Liberty's Edge

Thank you, but I found out that I was thinking about the Magister (although the Treasurer seems more important). Still, I'd have a decent Charisma and Diplomacy so Grand Diplomat or even Ruler could be options.

Maynotcare wrote:

Was that at me?

I'm currently playing in a heavily modified kingmaker game (probably with different modifications than your own), but I really like the idea of a gestalt one. If you'll allow it I might still apply. Not sure what sort of character to make yet though, I have a number of ideas, exactly what I'll go with will depend on the character creation rules I guess. A flying blade // sorcerer using Desna's Shooting Star could be fun. Though if you would allow a CG paladin of Desna taking a couple of levels of that would both be quite fitting and worthwhile. I even wrote up a paladin code for Desna for another game:

Paladin code of Desna:
I will seek to do good deeds before all else and let my example be an inspiration for others.
I will never give up hope, no matter how grim a situation or divination might be and it's my solem duty to try to change the outcome of dire portents.
I will always speak my mind and let noone put bonds to my words and I will fight for other's right to have their say as well.
I will not let anyone imprison me or any other unjustfully and will seek those who are confined without good cause.
I will do whatever is in my power to protect the innocents from direct attack. I will fight with all my power against those that threaten the common folk, especially those that seek to prey on dreams.
I will seek to stop the evil agents of Lamashtu and others I find attempting to do evil deeds.
I will always seek new experiences and travel the endless paths of the world, even if it's only a short trip around a settlement I will not let myself be shackled down to remaining stationary and without new input.

We have dignity, but many of us got burned by this kind of things in the past and/or saw other get burned.

Not a good reason to act like a child when a recruitment falls through or gets delayed a month.

Huh? I was asking Maynotcare if he/she is acting like a child and/or is an attention w****.

Or in easier to understand terms: "Are you doing these threads because you want to run a game or because it give you attentions?".

Be cautious at assigning motive to people you don't know. Somebody could easily attempt to assign similar motivations to your complaints.

We've all seen promised games fall through. It sucks, but real life happens. I've put forth games and had them fall apart and I feel bad about this.

Taking it personally puts a lot more stress on you than learning to let go.

Real life would be things like: work, familly, health, death, money, etc...

"Because someone else is making a Kingmaker game" doesn't fit any of the above, especially when they would barely share potential players.

That makes me sad. I was hoping for a politically focused KM game. I'm dotting just so I can keep an eye on it.

Ya know, this GM seems new to the boards. Perhaps this is their first attempt at a PbP and they are opting to wait to open recruitment so as not annoy fellow GMs and to stand a better chance of getting players.

However, regardless of the reasons, giving Maynotcare a hard time about their choice has zero positive effect. In fact, it's entirely possible that he or she will come back, see such negativity and decide to say 'screw it, I don't need this crap'. And not run, period.

And the only one to blame would be you, Guy.

^ this.

Recruitment threads on Paizo are already messy. Lets not make things worse by being entitled and insulting.

Nobody owes you a game.
