When I originally was considering which optional rules to use in this campaign, there was one that I wasn't too sure about and so I didn't add it along with the others. However, I've been looking it over as of late, and I'm thinking maybe leaving it out was a bad idea. So, I'll present it to you, my players, so you can see and determine for yourselves whether or not the option should be included for this campaign.

Limited Magic with the option to overclock .

I understand that this will directly affect Liesel-Marie's player once that character hits 4th level, so understandably, I'm really interested in hearing what the player has to say. But you all have a voice in this matter. Look it over, discuss it with each other. I'll base my decision on what you all have to say.

Personally I think that its another rule that must be learned and there are already a lot of new rules to follow. Plus I don't think reducing magic will have any benefits overall as magic items have already been removed. However, this will not directly relate to my character skill set as Kinectist don't use magic its more spell like ability or something of the sort.

I believe changing to much of the base system is going to be a burden to some of the new players who are new to pathfinder system and old players alike. Just my two cents.

It's been one of those weeks, sorry for my absence. I haven't found the gameplay thread yet as I'm working from oldest most-recent post to newest.

I will have to look at the rule later. Based on the description (overclocking), I surmise that it might be a bloodrager's cup of tea, but I will try to give it a real look. Later.

Once again, congratulations on hitting 2nd level; currently your total experience points sits at 2,170.

Looks like you've got some choices to make with regard to the investigation. Rohan thinks that Patrol Sergeant Frum may have some information that could worth killing him for, so that's a possible lead to explore. You still have Brinya Kelvar as a possible lead, as well as running down that list of names given to you by Cham. And there was a suggestion from Katrezra about checking out the Plague House that sits outside of town (area 6 on the Trunau map).

And also as a point of reference, timewise, it as approaching 10:00 AM. The sky is still dreary and overcast with dark clouds, giving the indication that it may rain at any given moment.

Honestly, the shopping is what's got me shut down. That takes more time than popping in and reacting to what's happened.

As for adding more people, I don't know - you end up with the original players feeling slighted because, if it works, the story pushes on without them, or if it doesn't, you are riding herd on even more people that don't have time to post.

My solution to games that were slower than I wanted to go was to get into another game to fill the time. Which explains why I am in so many games, all of which are getting a very small slice of time right now.

That said, do what you think you need to do.

Nyym, be safe and be with loved ones first. Don't feel pressured to post. This is supposed to be a diversion, not an obligation.

FYI: The wood panel-like sections of area F are what's left of the second floor. The room itself is three foot lower than normal (remember, the front doors were three foot off the ground). The first set of stairs will bring anyone standing on them a foot higher off the floor, while the second set leads up to the landing where your assailant is currently standing.

I know that you all have been having issues with the skill systems being used in this campaign, and for that, I want to thank you all for your patience in testing it out for me. So with that said, I've decided that, in addition to the standard skills, there will be two more skills added to the list: Artistry and Lore. With this comes the idea of background and adventuring skills.

Adventuring skills are those skills that are most relevant for characters while they're actively adventuring. Most adventuring skills are related to training and practice, and each has a clear and specific application to the everyday challenges that face a professional adventurer. Adventuring skills get used for the majority of skill checks, so most skill ranks should be devoted to those skills.
The following specialties are considered adventuring skills: Acrobatics, Athletics, Finesse, Influence, Perception, Spellcraft, Stealth, Survival.

Background Skills are skills don't directly affect the careers of typical adventurers the same way that adventuring skills do, but are useful means for characters to interact with and explore the world outside of combat.
The following skill specialties are background skills: Artistry, Lore, Nature, Performance, Religion, Society.

Artistry and Lore are considered specialties of Scholarly. Artistry means you are skilled in the creative arts, following your aesthetic sensibilities to bring to life the wonders of your imagination and is also the replacement for Appraise, Craft and Profession, while Lore is a specialized area of knowledge, generally narrower than that of a full-fledged scholar and acts as a catchall skill for information (Lore [engineering] or Lore [elven history], for example).

Everyone gets to select 1 background skill. You can expend your normal skill specialties at the appropriate levels to select either background or adventuring skills. You can take a specialty in Lore any number of times, choosing a different type of Lore each time. To attempt a check with a Lore skill, a character must have a specialty in it. Having training in the Scholarly skill group doesn't allow you to use all the potential Lore skills untrained, but it does enable someone with one or more Lore skills to add their full level as a bonus on those checks, rather than just 1/2 their level.

FYI: Liesel-Marie didn't miss her attack with that throw, even taking into account the cover provided with her throw. However, the hardness of the railing subtracted 5 points of damage, leaving on 6 points which wasn't enough to blast through and continue on.

So... no one is going to make sure Nyym takes care of his injury (he did take 9 points of damage during the fighting). Your call, but considering that he's got a -2 penalty on all attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks he makes and his AC (which means it's down by 3 points due to the Dex damage taken from the poison, putting it 14), I figured y'all might want to get him to where he's functioning better before any other combat could potentially occur.

Out of character knowledge he did have several potions of cure light. I assumed we all purchased a few. My character at this moment is not a healer so not an immediate concern for him. However he would notice the excessive dripping of blood. I'll make note of it.

I was uninjured. My focus is to move to the fore and watch for threats. She presumed Nyym would make sure he was ready to proceed.

Liesel-Marie is closer - I have completed the purchases. Rohan can put his extra backpack back on his inventory list (if he removed it) and I owe Nyym an antitoxin. Since it was mentioned before we went buying, I think it's reasonable that she would have followed suit, even if she would not have thought of it herself.

Getting the new purchases on the character sheet will take a little time, however.

And - who is carrying the healer's bag? Who has the best heal skill modifier, or lacking any healers, the best Wisdom modifier?

I'm thinking that to help with keeping track of everyone's location on the map (including monsters), we may need to develop movable tokens that can be used by us for that purpose. So, I'm coming up with an assignment: find an image that best represents your character's appearance. We'll see what can be done about getting them converted into a proper token.

I did some scanning online, and I Thought of a few ways you could do it.

One you can use this program. http://www.rptools.net/toolbox/maptool/

It allows you to edit pictures and updated them to a picture.

You could also use roll20.net and create a game and drop the tokens down and move them as needed. In addition you could take screen shots and share the images through a dropbox link. Just an idea.

Rohan's sunrod is still active. It lasts for 6 hours, and y'all haven't been in the Plague House even 1 yet. The light from it extends out 30' for normal light conditions. Up to 60' past that are dim light conditions. Nyym, with his low-light vision, sees double those distances, but if he needs to, can switch to darkvision when in areas with dark conditions. Yes... he has both. Sometimes, it's good to be a half-elf.

By the way, Rohan still has 40 minutes left on his antiplague while everyone has 55 minutes left on antitoxin.

Funny story about the RoUS... originally, there were supposed to be 3 dire rats behind the door. However, I didn't want to have to deal with keeping track of the movement of all of them, so I decided to have it transform into the RoUS to make it a tougher fight. Okay, maybe it's not funny, but man are you guys going to love the experience point reward for killing it... you'd think it was some kind of mini-boss or something.

Just to let you guys know that I'm still keeping track of these things, Rohan has 30 minutes left on his antiplague while everyone has 45 minutes left on antitoxin. Also Rohan still has over 5 hours left before his sunrod burns out.

Also, some of you are already aware of this, so this next bit is mainly for Liesel-Marie and Kytynna: I'm looking at the possibility of running a science fantasy campaign. The setting will be a blend of the old 3rd Edition Dragonstar setting and the new Aethera Campaign Setting for Pathfinder (The Dragonstar setting occupies a spiral galaxy called the Serpent's Eye. At the center of the galaxy is the Dark Nebula, which is where the Aethera system of planets will be located). This will allow for races normally not present in either setting to coexist with one another. What's more, for what I'm looking at doing, good alignments, Chaotic Evil and Chaotic Neutral will not be allowed (this effectively leaves only 4 of the nine alignments available for play: True Neutral, Neutral Evil, Lawful Neutral, and Lawful Evil). The reason is two-fold: to promote a sense of cooperation between the members of the group and there will be jobs/tasks that are more than a little morally ambiguous. As most of you who have been in games that I've run previous to this one, the alignment thing is a departure from my usual take on the game (I like my players' characters to be honest to goodness heroes), but with what I plan on using for this campaign, I've made an exception to this long-standing rule of mine.

As you may expect, this will take some time to put together. I just wanted to make sure that the offer of participation was extended to everyone involved in this current campaign before I looked elsewhere for other players.

I'm in pretty deep already with a lot of games and periodic bouts of nonavailability (like this last week), so I'm not sure I should commit at this point. A few of my games are winding down, so when you are ready to roll this out, I may have time on my dance card. Today, I would probably say no.
