Eyes of the Ten - joining after first part?

For the Eyes of the Ten arc, I know that once started the characters are locked until they complete the arc, but are characters allowed to come in after the first part without having played the first part? Basically, does the arc have to be done in order?

Yes, it must be done in order and from the beginning. There are important things that are tracked through the entire story.

If, however, they GMed part 1, then I believe they are still okay to play the other parts, as long as all parts are done in the proper order on the character. But without completing part 1, a character can not move on to the other parts.

It is my understanding that wouldn't work either.

Anyway, one of the pleasures of Eyes is in playing it through with a stable party that has done everything together.

The arc has to be done in order, but the team does not have to be the same every time. However, it is far more preferable that way.
