Drake companion question

Liberty's Edge

I may be missing it somewhere so thought I would ask. Base form drake companion seems to be listed with a zero natural armor bonus make them much much easier to hit than any animal companion out there. I have player wanting to try the druid template allowing for drakes but he is very hesitant due to this. Was that a misprint????? If not
I can see his consern.

I have no idea if this was a misprint or not, but if you're cool with them having a drake in the 1st place I don't see why it'd matter.

Afterall, you're the DM. Work with your player to make cool stories & set the drakes AC to whatever you think it should be.

The drake companion is ludicrously underpowered for what it gives. There are homebrew fixes for the cavalier and paladin archetypes, but druid is generally considered powerful enough that no one gave a fix for their version of drake companion.

I'd recommend having it start art small, which would give the first level of natural armor from growth.

nope, it's intentional. Drakes start off really bad and grow into being okay.
