So, I'm making a half-orc cleric of Desna. My concept is that he's a higher ranking member of a branch of the church who wanders the Path, pretending to be a regular priest and sending out subtle reports to the church. One of the roles he would fill would be of a party face. My question is can the cardinal archetype be combined with the varisian pilgrim archetype?

Well, that does make sense. But, here's my thought process. The varisian pilgrim archetype requires that I must select the Chaos, Community, Liberation, Luck, Travel, or Weather domain (or the Exploration, Fate, Freedom, Trade, or Seasons subdomains if available in the campaign) as one of my domains. The cardinal archetype makes it so that I only have one domain. If I make it so that my only domain allowed but the cardinal archetype is one of the domains required by varisian pilgrim (in my case, Travel), wouldn't that mean that both of the archetypes could work?

I'd allow it in a home game, but per the latest FAQ on archetpye stacking, if any archetpye alters a class feature in any way at all it doesn't stack. It also makes sense logically, as both archetpye give you other benefits for limiting domains. You are doubling up on the benifit and reducing the penalty, so I can see that argument against.
It's a no-go in PFS, in a home game ask your GM.

Well, this would be for a pbp game. So I will only limit it to only one archetype. However, which one works better? I'd say the varisian pilgrim would work best for the concept (plus probably tossing in an inquisition in place of the other domain). But, I like the cardinal archetype. So, hard decision to make.
