Monk bonus feats and saves are valuable for the fact that they free up feat-slots to take bonus weapon feats, which increases attack and damage anyhow - they aren't quite as much of an all-around boost as +4DEX and a Furious weapon, but they're always active.
You can potentially be a Swashbuckler/Monk that uses Flurry of Blows with a Slashing Grace temple sword. Sohei Monk lets you do it with mithral medium armor on.
