[d20Pro] Looking for players for an online Pathfinder group

Gamer Connection

Grand Lodge

I'm looking for players who are interested in forming an online Pathfinder group.

Game sessions would be run using the d20Pro virtual tabletop program (d20Pro.com) and Skype for voice chat. The d20Pro software is available for free and I have six guest licenses so players can connect to my game for free.

Saturday mornings or evenings US Central time would be my preferred times for biweekly 4-hour sessions, but I could also accommodate (shorter) weeknight session(s) if that would work better for the group as a whole.

My emphasis at the start will be on forming a solid group. Thus, I plan for our first few game sessions to serve as "get to know you" times. I would run a short adventure or two with the players running informal "throw-away" PCs.

Once we feel that the group has "gelled" then we can discuss what we want to do for our main campaign. I am open to running a quasi-homebrew campaign made up of loosely-connected modules, or running a more "formal" campaign like an Adventure Path if that is the direction the group wants to take.

If you are interested, please post a reply to this thread and indicate your preferred time(s) for sessions.

Thanks,

GM Budman

I'd be interested. I play with my long-term group on Sunday nights on MapTool and Ventrilo and would love to join another weekly game as well. Hard to get enough gaming! The only night I could do every week is Wednesdays due to a non traditional work schedule though. You can PM me if you'd like and I'll give you my email so we can chat further.

Hi Budman.

I'd be interested as well. Especially for a mid week game.Wednesday works for me too. Saturday morning if it started at 8am or so would also work.

I played a PF game on roll20 about a year ago and really enjoyed it.

- Brian

I may be interested depending on the time. A Wednesday evening (as others mentioned) could work. I'm Pacific time.

Also - I have a licensed copy of d20pro and could connect without using one of the GM licenses if needed.

If we were to try for Wednesday evenings, would a session time of 6-9 PM Central (4-7 PM Pacific) work for you?

Yes. I should be able to make 4-7 PM Pacific (6-9 CDT) work. I could even move it an hour either way if needed.

What version of d20pro are you currently using? I've got 3.6.8 installed.

I'm also running the latest released version, 3.6.8.

Hello,

I have never played online, I do have experience in pathfinder playing with friends in person. I'm interested in trying it though.

Weekends would work better for me, especially sunday, but depending on the rest of the group I could try to see if the time that better suits everyone works for me too.

Hi, Rotsen. Based on the other's responses, it's looking like our session times would be on Wednesday evenings from around 6 to 9 PM US Central time. Would that work for you?

Liberty's Edge

6 PM is too early for me. My youngest kiddo doesn't hit he rack until 730 PM (CST) or so. I don't think I could play while she's still up. Would 8-11 PM be too late?

Yes, 11 PM would be too late for me. I get up for work at 5:30 AM weekday mornings.

Liberty's Edge

I could try and make 7 PM work or jump on after I get her down for the night.

I'm flexible with my schedule.

7 PM - 10 PM (5 - 8 Pacific Time) would work for me, if it works for everyone else.

I'm on the east coast, so it would be Wednesday 7pm-10pm for me right? I could do that. I've only ever played in person and haven't used the online software but I'm down to try it.

Yes, my original proposed time of 6-9 PM US Central time would be 7-10 PM US Eastern time.

However, it appears that we would need to shift the time a little later to accommodate Nerak.

How about the following: 7:00-9:30 PM US Central time (5-7:30 PM Pacific, 8:00-10:30 PM Eastern)? How would that work for everyone?

Yes, 7 to 9:30 would work for me.

Liberty's Edge

Sounds good to me, though don't worry about making accommodations just for me. I can always jump on a little late if you wanna get started sooner without me.

How many people do you want in your session? 8:00-10:30 eastern works for me too.

I'd be down for anything if you have homebrew stuff already set up. I haven't played at least half of the adventure paths and those are always pretty good although they're pretty long and you need the books/PDFs.

Grand Lodge

I think we can handle up to 6 players. It is not unusual to have at least one player who is not able to attend any particular session.

I don't have a homebrew campaign set up yet, but I do have some misc modules/adventures already set up in d20Pro.

I have all of the Pathfinder APs to date. The issue with an AP is the amount of work needed to both get it set up to start and then to continue it, but I've run the first one or two chapters of a few of the APs online before, so they would involve less initial work for me (Curse of the Crimson Throne Chapter 1, Second Darkness Chapters 1 and 2, Kingmaker Chapters 1-3).

But as I indicated in my original post, my initial focus is on us forming a solid group. What we end up playing long-term is not as important to me, and I don't plan to dictate what we play, although my available time may limit what I'm willing to run.

Grand Lodge

I believe I have requested email addresses via PM from everyone who has posted on this thread except for DexterLecter because the site does not give me a "Send Private Message" link when I click on his name.

DexterLecter, can you send me a PM with your email address?

Thanks,

GM Budman

Well I might have a friend who is interested in joining if we need an extra player.

Liberty's Edge

My vote would be for an AP. I haven't played in either Second Darkness or CotCT and only made it partway through the first adventure in Kingmaker.

Sure! PM me your friend's email address and I'll include them in my email coming out soon. No pressure on them to join if they decide not to.

That works for me. I would also vote for going through an AP. I'm currently running (as GM) Curse of the Crimson Throne. So I would vote for King Maker, Second Darkness, or (if you have it) - Hell's Rebels.

Grand Lodge

Ok, I've sent a test email to each of you. Please reply to it so I can add y'all to my address book (or let me know if you didn't receive it so I can verify your address).

Thanks,

GM Budman

I'll email everyone a short list of survey questions asking what APs you are playing/have played, really would be interested in playing, etc. After I hear back from everyone I'll collate and publish the results, create a short list of "candidates," and then ask everyone to vote.

Grand Lodge

I'm still waiting for a couple of people to reply, so I'll post this here:

I'd like to schedule our first "Get to know you" session for Wednesday, 9/21 from 7:00 to 9:30 PM US Central time.

This month I am already committed to GMing levels of Thornkeep for PFS at my local game store on the Tuesday evenings of 9/13 and 9/27, so I'd like to schedule this group for the "in between" week.

Does the 21st work for everyone?

Yes that works for me.

Liberty's Edge

Sounds good to me.

The 21st should work for me.

The latest released version of d20Pro is now 3.6.9!

Scarab Sages

If there is still room, I can commit to a Wednesday evening every other week, or a Saturday evening/morning every other week, as well.

Is the call still open?

We already have 6 players if everyone I'm currently in contact with follows through.

If you like, PM me your email address and I will contact you if an opening were to become available in the future.

I played with Budman in a D20Pro game last year. Excellent guy - this should be a great game.
