He's a deep thinker. He's a wide...um..sitter. He loves the Pathfinder game nearly as much as he does pie.

I posted this once already, then it disappeared. Maybe it was taken down for some reason. But I'm trying again. I'm not posting this out of vanity, but out of boredom. I'm stuck at home with nothing to do but housework and I'd rather take a beating than do that. So feel free to ask me anything, except rules questions. There are others on the board who can answer those better than I can, and they're also easy to look up on the web. So help alleviate my boredom and give me something to do instead of washing dishes. OH, and include something about yourself I might not know about you.

Hope to hear from ya!

What do you hate most about dishes.

For me it's the repetition.

I found having a t.v. in the kitchen with Super Hero movies playing helps alleviate the boredom though.

My personal favorite for that is Ant-Man and The Avengers.

Like you, I think it's the repetition. Silverware is the worst. I hate washing those things. I usually turn up the stereo in my bedroom and put on one my numerous Youtube playlists to help with the monotony of the chore.

I loved Ant-Man. It was a great combo of action and comedy.

So given this season of politics... hypno-pathetically, let's say there are two candidates for Office X. How would you stack rank these four factors in terms of importance at influencing your decision:

* the candidates' party affiliations
* the candidates' stands on a single issue
* the candidates' stands on the majority of issues
* the fact that one of the candidates is an avid RPG Player and DM

Hmmm. Something about me, eh? Well, (amusingly) I rarely speak about myself, mostly because I already know my stories so I'm far more interested in hearing about other folks.

My personal campaign setting is loosely based on a combination of Constantinople and the very early Renaissance of Europe. Most of the adventures take place in the city of Dar-Shalul, though I get bored with city only games and I sometimes send them on "away missions" so that I don't get too bored with the games. There's plenty of political and personal intrigue involved, and my players are pretty happy with the way things are going.

Top 20 of each? I'm not sure I can recall that many. I'll just reply with some of the biggest ones, though they'll be far from 20, I'm sure.

As a GM:

Not being prepared enough and just floundering my way through the adventure. I used to be able to wing a game with no problem, but my players are now Level 13/Mythic Tier 3, so it's harder to run a game without some preparation.

Killing a PC. I hate to do that, especially if the player has invested so much time and effort into building up their character. I've only ever had one TPK, and I felt terrible about it for days.

I worry about the quality of my games getting worse as I get older. I have some problems that keep me from concentrating as well as I used to, and I'm always forgetting some rule or another and having to look it up, which slows things down. I know this frustrates my players, but they're pretty understanding of my issues.

Losing players. I tend to be somewhat insecure these days, and I had a couple of pretty loyal players who just quit coming to the games. I've tried to ask them what the reasons were, but they just sort of ignore the question or change the subject. So I don't know what's going on with them.

Introducing new players, especially someone I haven't known personally, makes me very nervous. I feel like I'm being judged. I've played with most of my group around 30 years so a new player always throws me off a little. I also suffer from pretty severe social anxiety disorder so that doesn't help the situation.

That's all of the GM ones I can come up with for now. But now, nightmares as a player:

Not knowing the rules of a new game. I rarely ever get to be a player, so learning a new one is a challenge to me. I learn better by actually playing the character, so I feel like a doofus if I'm placed in a situation where I should know the rules but don't.

Having my character die. I invest a lot of time and effort into my characters, and having one get killed in a game always brings me down for a little while.

Like I feel as a GM, sometimes I think I'm being judged by my friends as a player because I don't get to be one that often. When I do I tend to end up being the most active actual roleplayer and party face, whether I intend to or not. So I feel like I've got a lot of pressure on me to play really well.

There, that's far from the 20 of each, but I hope it gives you an idea of the things I worry the most about.

Oh boy, this is tough:

Party Affiliations: Since I tend to lean one direction more than the other, it's important to me that my candidate share many, if not most, of my hopes for a fair governing ability, but able to work in a bipartisan fashion.

Stand on a single issue: It really depends on the issue. There are only a few things that I have a really firm stance on, but if they have the same as I do then I'm more likely to vote for them.

Much like the single issue question, it depends on how close they follow the same issues and ideals I have for a governing individual. If we differ too much, I might still vote for them from a level of personal preference over their opponent.

I'd find the fact they're a gamer very interesting, but it wouldn't alter my choice of whether or not to vote for them.

Oh, I'm sorry. I misunderstood the question. I don't really have many stories like the ones you intended for me to answer. As a GM, many years back, a new player was introduced into our 2e AD&D game. He was a really nice guy, seemed a bit odd, but a nice guy nonetheless. Then he asked if I had anything to eat in the apartment. I was taken aback by this, and answered him with, "Well, I have a can of corn in the cupboard". He then asked could he have that. Not knowing what else to do, I said sure and microwaved the corn in a bowl for him and gave it to him. And he's still a player in my games to this day and has become a great friend, but we've never let him live that down.

Another guest player showed up strung out on some narcotic and spent the whole time talking to herself and slapping at bugs that weren't there.

Had a female roommate offer to sleep with me if I'd give her a magic sword that she'd designed herself. I didn't do either one of those things. She moved out soon after.

As a player, let's see. In a game of Boot Hill, had my character tracked down by a bounty hunter, who placed a shotgun right against his face and pulled the trigger. He fumbled and the DM judged that the gun jammed and my player managed to kill him. But for a brief second there I thought I was a goner. I had actual chills.

Another was my Anti-Paladin being held prisoner by Drow and tortured sexually. The DM for that game was obsessed with weird sexual fetishes so he took them out on my character. I took it in stride as a roleplayer but was really disturbed by his imagination.

Another was when my Anti-Paladin was killed by Tiamat. She let loose with all five heads and reduced him to a pile of greasy ashes. I was later resurrected by the party (it was an evil campaign and we were ordered to work together by our deity in his name). Even though it was an evil game we weren't allowed to backstab or even allow one of the players to die permanently as we had a mission to fulfill for him.

I'm a big fan of the "Aja" album. There really isn't a weak track on it, in my opinion. I got to see them live a couple of months ago and it was a real treat. My only complaint was they didn't do "Deacon Blues".

Super-serious series of questions*:

* Nnnnnnope.

If you could have 1d4 ⇒ 1 different super-powers, what would they be and why?
(Assume corollary powers required to make a given power work are part of it; i.e. Since you'd need super tensile strength/durability to, you know, not-die when you made use of your super-strength power, you get them both when you say "super strength" as a singular option.)
Why?

If, instead, you could be a gestalt of 1d2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 super heroes, who would you gestalt to be yourself? Why? Which comic universe would you run around in? Would you prefer to be in that one, or this one?

On the other hand: BAM! You just gained 3d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 3, 6) + 2 = 12 levels in a Pathfinder class (or classes)! Which class(es) do you pick, and why? Incidentally, if you could spontaneously switch races, would you? And if so, to which?

Similarly, you won the super-lottery, and gained mythic tiers! 3d3 + 1 ⇒ (2, 2, 3) + 1 = 8 of 'em! (And you gain class levels to match; please feel free to change your previous answer if this does so for some reason.) What path do you take? (Alternate option: substitute a single tier for a simple mythic template.)

Yet another query: you monster. Specifically, you CR: 1d30 ⇒ 14 (or less) monster! Which are you?! ... and would this have been your first choice? If not, which would be?

But the wheels of fate-time have spun again, and your everything has been transposed into that of someone else! You've just become a prepublished NPC from an official source! Which prepublished NPC is it?

What campaign setting do you run around in? Why?

As a final thing: blend any and/or all of the above questions into a single ginormous question: an optional blend of a prepublished NPC, monster, and some superheroes all walk into a bar... and out comes you, as a gestalt of those guys, the race you choose, some extra superpowers, and have extra class levels and mythic tiers on top! What are you?! (Other than "awesome" - naturally.)

Equipment is a non-issue (like adjunct super-powers; what you need to do <X> is assumed). Also note that any significant others can be brought with you.

"Official" and "Pre-published" are loose terms, but general expect something that has a solid publishing company and identifiable map/world/conceits behind it (like WotC for Forgotten Realms, Eberron, Dark Sun, Greyhawk, etc; or Green Ronin for Blue Rose, but not "True20"; or Paizo for Golarion, or the Maelstrom, or the upcoming Starfinder; but not "the Bestiaries" or "the Planes" or things like that - basically things that people can find and nerd out about with you). Similarly, if it has a solid AP out for it, that, too, is acceptable (like Legendary Planet; or any of Paizo's APs). It should probably be a d20 variant, but it can be whatever you like of those many variants (True20, Blue Rose, Paizo, 3.5, 3rd; etc.). That said, if a Homebrew or otherwise "weak" entry just needs to be there due to compelling reasons... okay. Similarly other systems. Let us know why! Computer and video game translations of such (Neverwinter Nights and/or expansions/sequels; PFO; etc) are acceptable as interpretations as well.

Similarly, for comics, it needs to be superheroes that people can reasonsonably be expected to come across - "that one I made up with my cousin as a kid" is an awesome answer, and worth noting and why, but prrrrooooobabaly isn't the best choice, unless it's just so powerful that you've GOT to. In which case: sure, but bring us along for the ride! Related, the super need not come from one of the "big two" in comics, so long as the people and world is both recognizes me and accessible - choosing The Incredibles world is valid, as is Spawn (blech); you're not just limited to Marvel or DC. Similarly "standard" powers need not apply - so long as it is clearly communicable, it's fine (even if all the field specifics aren't clear, that's okay - knowing you're powered by our yellow star is fine; you don't need to know this, but it's acceptable if you do).

Finally, presume you have the basics necessary for a happy life. Your spouse, best friend, and so on, can all be considered to "come with you" (should they choose to do so) wherever it is that you go.

Oh, and one more thing: if you lived through a Legend of Zelda (as one of the Links); which would it be, and why?

Thanks! Enjoy!

But the wheels of fate-time have spun again, and your everything has been transposed into that of someone else! You've just become a prepublished NPC from an official...

1d4 superpowers: Let's see. I rolled a 2. (I don't remember how to do on the forums so I just used an online number generator). I'd like to be able to speak, read, and write every language on the planet. I've been called a natural diplomat and pretty adept at defusing bad situations, and I I think communication is key to that.

Super Strength, along with its corollary powers. I think being able to lift and move immensely heavy objects would be important in rescuing disaster victims as well as helping rebuild them.

Gestalt Superhero? Batman and Superman. Batman's deductive abilities coupled with Superman's repertoire of powers would make him able to arrive at a solution that doesn't always involve bashing in doors and walls. So I guess I'd run around the DC Universe.

BAM! You just gained 3d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 3, 6) + 2 = 12 levels in a Pathfinder class (or classes)!

I love Fighters, so I'd advance in that class. Being able to stand toe to toe with the toughest foes would be awesome. As for switching races, I'd go with Elf, though I'm nearly a Human purist. I seldom play anything but Humans.

Similarly, you won the super-lottery, and gained mythic tiers! 3d3 + 1 ⇒ (2, 2, 3) + 1 = 8 of 'em!

I'd go with the Champion path, to compliment my levels in Fighter.

Yet another query: you monster. Specifically, you CR: 1d30 ⇒ 14

I think I'm a neutral good person in real life, so I'd go with Astral Deva. It would be my first choice.

But the wheels of fate-time have spun again, and your everything has been transposed into that of someone else!

I'd be Valeros. A warrior who's not afraid to get his hands dirty, yet has a good heart.

What setting would I run around in?

My homebrew. I've been DMing in it for over 20 years and I know it so I know it inside and out. I've never played in a published realm (with the exception of the rare times I get to be a player and that GM runs Golarion).

A supernatural being, likely a demi-god or at least something like a saint.

Finally, presume you have the basics necessary for a happy life. Your spouse, best friend, and so on, can all be considered to "come with you" (should they choose to do so) wherever it is that you go.

I live in Arkansas, and have all my life (except for one miserable year in St. Louis). But if I were to relocate, it would to the mountains of Colorado with my friends and family. I visited Denver once and fell in love with the place.

Oh, and one more thing: if you lived through a Legend of Zelda (as one of the Links); which would it be, and why?

I've never played a single Zelda game, so I can't answer this one.

WHEW!!! That was tough! I hope I answered satisfactorily!
