Questions about the ACG app

Has anyone else had issues with the ACG app glitching in quest mode? If so where did you go to report the issue?

You should probably head over to Obsidian's site: http://forums.obsidian.net/forum/98-pathfinder-adventures-general-discussio n-no-spoilers/

I have issues with the game full stop. Every time they update it something stops working.

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. They're charging for a work-in-progress, IMO.

Actually, the game is free. You can choose to pay to support the company or get access to things faster, but that's up to you.

In any case, it seems to work fine for many people.

Fair point, I should amend my comment: I wouldn't recommend paying for any of the extra content. Half the time you buy gold or something and it doesn't register until you email them and they manually add it. Every now and again a new version will come out and scenarios which used to work fine suddenly don't any more.

There may be many people for whom it works fine, but there are an awful lot of people posting bugs/issues and reporting that in-app purchases don't process.

I wouldn't recommend spending money on it to anyone on that basis - "it works some of the time" is not a great endorsement, in my view.

Strangely enough, I have had zero issues with it from the very beginning. I've run a bunch of parties through, played through at the various levels. The one thing that I haven't done, other than one or two scenarios, is the quest mode, because that just doesn't interest me. Perhaps that is where the issues are and I haven't seen them because I haven't played that way?

I had been playing with my wife's older iPad (an old Mini, possibly even first generation). The game crashed repeatedly. After an update, it seemed to get even worse. For a while, I couldn't even make a new party in Story mode without the game hanging, so I resorted to playing solo Lini in quest mode, which only crashed occasionally.

After my wife showed me how well the game ran on her new iPad pro, she encouraged me to get my own iPad. BestBuy had a sale on the Mini 4 recently, so I picked one up. I played through Burnt offerings with my old party of 4, and everything went smoothly; no issues at all.

I've also never played Quest mode, and had very few issues. The app crashed a bit on Bluestacks, but I've had almost no trouble on AmiDuos and a cheap secondhand tablet.

The app is quite resource hungry so devices with less memory and older cpu have been im trouples From time to time. I Also have had very Little difficulties, but the experiences can be Also not so rosy for some peoples.
So if you have relative new and powerfull device, you should be fine. You just have to avoid some well known bugs and you will have guite smooth Ride.

This web page includes a pretty through list of iOS devices and the newest iOS version that that device will run. If your device is listed as anything other than "Current," you are likely to have an increasing number of issues with newer apps and with updates to older apps in general (that is, not just Pathfinder Adventures).

Thanks, Vic. Do you happen to know how to tell what kind of Ipad you've got? (And what Operating System it's running?)

This page will tell you what model you have when you give them an identifier. The easiest identifier to provide is probably the model number, which is printed on the back of your iPad at the bottom; it's a 4-digit number preceded by the letter A.)

To display the iOS version, open Settings, then click on General, then About.

Hopefully this went without saying, but not only do you want hardware that supports the latest OS—you want the latest OS actually installed. As of August 25, that's iOS 9.3.5.

Cheers, Vic. I do have the most up to date OS, so that's okay.

With regard to the first page - iPad 3rd generation are only listed as 9.x rather than "current" but the PACG app says it works with iPad 3 and later.

Do you think that might be an issue? The 3rd generation is the first with the smaller power lead, I believe (?)

That page could maybe be clearer about this, but it's in a weird place because iOS 10 is due to be released September 13.

• When it says "iOS 9.x" without a star, it means that it runs 9.3.5 but will not run iOS 10.x.

• When it says "iOS 9.x" followed by a star, it means that it runs the 9.3.5 but "significant features are not supported" (and I don't actually know what that means), but will not run iOS 10.x.

• When it says "current" without a star, it means that it runs 9.3.5 and will run iOS 10.x as well.

• When it says "current" followed by a star, it means that it runs 9.3.5 and will run iOS 10.x as well, but again, "significant features are not supported."

So basically the iPad 3 does run the current OS, but that statement is only true for the next week.
