Advice: PFS Lycanthrope build

Is this even possible in PFS?

Waaaaaaay back in 2nd edition, Forgotten Realms, I ran a specialty priest of Selune. One ability that Selune (goddess of the good lycanthropes, among other domains) granted to her specialty priests was that if they ever became infected with lycanthropy by a lycanthrope that shared their alignment, they would become a true lycanthrope rather than afflicted.

I want to revisit that concept here in Pathfinder. Ashava seems to be the best deity to do this under, due to a similar favoring of good-aligned lycanthropes, but the rest of the details seem murky.

So, coming back to the main question: is there a way to gain true lycanthropy as a PFS character?

Unfortunately, no. Lyncanthropy is one of the conditions that must be resolved before the end of the scenario or your character is marked as dead.

As an alternative idea, instead of having a PC that would eventually be a true lycanthrope, perhaps have the PC striving for it... but never actually gets there. A skinwalker PC or a totem druid of the desired animal are my first two thoughts.

Thanks for the advice. It is as I feared. I'll ponder your suggestions and see what I can come up with. Thanks!

There's a new option in Horror Adventures as well: the mooncursed barbarian, who transforms into an animal - and later a hybrid - during rage.

You might want to give that a look. ^_^

Also lunar oracles, with the wolfscarred curse. There are some skinwalker boons out there that you MAY be able to get your hands on too, but you'd likely need something pretty juicy to trade for it.

Now that sounds awesome.

Haha, I'm pretty much brand new to PFS. I don't have *any* boons, let alone a juicy one to offer for trade.

I will, however, accept charity. I'm not proud. ;)

I love everyone's suggestions. There are some interesting ideas here. Keep 'em coming! I like the idea of playing a character who is striving yet continually failing. Are there particular scenarios I should look out for that feature lycanthropes?

There aren't that many where telling about the involvement of lycanthropes wouldn't be a spoiler.

You might want to look into Tide of Twilight for similar kind of flavor, though. :)

The Mooncursed Barbarian is the reason I purchased Horror Adventures. It even flavors it as a form of lycanthropy if I remember correctly.

This is absolutely correct.

Horror Adventures wrote:
Some barbarians exhibit an unusual form of lycanthropy powered by their fury. Such a character transforms willfully but can maintain her animal or hybrid forms only while raging.

It's on my short list of things to play... although it faces stiff competition from the things I'm writing. ^_^

I'd forgotten about that! I need that to be the first Chronicle on my mooncursed. ^_^

Liberty's Edge

tiny werewolf build

you could also be a druid

There is the Beastmorph and Metamorph Alchemist. There is also a Druid archetype in Ultimate Intrigue that lets you take humanoid forms.

Right now, I'm thinking Mooncaller Druid or Lunar Oracle. Since my goal here is to revisit a 2nd Edition character, these hew closer to that original character. That character was a cleric, so divine casting is almost a must. (I loved flame strike. Oh, did I love flame strike.) The alchemist and barbarian suggestions, while fantastic, aren't quite right for this character.

There's a lot to like about Lunar Oracle. Looks like I'm going to have to buy that book.

Just remember to check Additional Resources (http://paizo.com/pathfinderSociety/additionalResources) before getting too attached to all to cool stuff in the book. Lot of it is not allowed for most characters. The oracle mystery is, though, so good so far.
