Armored Kilt question, also alternatives

Rules Questions

The Armored kilt interests me bceause it has no arcane failure chance or armor penalty, so it would work on an Arcane Caster.

Can the armored kilt be made out of special materials or enchanted?

Eastern armor has the haramaki and SIlken Cermonial armor. The haramaki is called "metal" in its description so i think it can be made out of metal special materials.

The rules around the armored kilt are a mess. It's purely 'ask the GM' territory. If allowed, there's little reason not to use it unless it means taking armor check penalty.

An arcane caster can also use a mithral kikko with no penalty (even if not proficient) by taking Arcane Armor Training.

Ask your GM.
If I'm your GM, no special material on armored kilt.

Ask you GM if the item is even allowed, then ask if he/she would consider allowing it to be made of special materials as it may be one of those cannot get there for here type ideas.

If I was to allow it:
As for enchanted, any enchantment or material that could affect cloth I would allow and for metal enhancements I would either do 1/2 to 1/8 effect (or none in the case of adamatine) depending on what it was and cost x3-x10 the normal cost for using such material in a item for being so unique.

In general I would not allow the the AK to stack in my game with other armors and if I was to allow it to be made from special cloth, I would require it to also have a corresponding metal material to be used that had properties close to what I was looking for. ie to reduce its weight it I would require something like spider silk and mithril.

After thinking about it some more I would really have to think as a GM if I was going to allow this and make sure the player knew exactly how I would limit the item so there was not confusion as to enchanting it in the future.
