Would the Inscribe Rune feat be worth it?

Advice

Just curious really. I have a character with the Inscribe Magical Tattoo feat and I wasn't sure if this would add anything to that, since apparently you could conceivably create new runes. With your DMs approval of course.

I don't currently see the upside of having a rune over a magical tattoo though, save for the rune not taking up a body slot, but you can only have one per person. That last bit especially makes me think it's not worth taking, since you and maybe your party would only get one each.

What are your thoughts on Inscribe Rune?

Inscribe Magical Tattoo lets you equip more magic item stuff since it does not take a slot. But since it is priced as slotless, I see it as slightly worse than Craft Wondrous Item.

Inscribe Rune seems very much worse. All the listed runes are expensive, and limited to 1/person. Sure, you can do your allies, but you have a very limited pool of possible runes to create. This is much better on an NPC.

3rd edition had a much better version that let you inscribe runes on items to add magic. It was flavored as dwarven & giant religious magic, and needed a divine caster to qualify. It was also designed for widespread rather than concentrated magic. For example, warding a large circle that four could stand in and gain a benefit while fighting.
