I am flicking through my copy of Horror Adventures and had a question about one of the alternate racial traits. Additional Resources says that all of them are legal except Rationalise.

Is it intended that the Halfling racial trait Deep Jungle is legal? Such halflings lose Common as a starting language and I had understood that things which removed common as a language were normally not allowed for rather obvious reasons.

Also, looking at the Cleric section, the Domains and Sub Domains are noted as legal for play however none of the deities which grant them seem to be legal (Great Old Ones and Daemon Harbringers). I can see this causing more than a little confusion.

I suppose you might be able to take one as a separatist cleric?

Well, the Void domain is legal for some other deities that aren't printed in that book (Black Butterfly springs to mind)...

I made a deep jungle halfling... I totally want to use it before they ban it

The Gingerbread Witch is HILARIOUS! I wish it was fixed to be legal, by removing the crafting stuff.

Looks like Gruesome Shapechanger feat is legal, because they misspelled the name in the Additional Resources as just "Gruesome Shape"

If this actually stuck, I'd totally be making a kitsune with it.

Do it before they fix it ;-)

We can take another look at the deep jungle trait, as you're right that its legality doesn't follow the pattern of similar options. Thank you for bringing it up; it's a lot easier to correct now (if that's what seems prudent) than months from now.

The Void domain has been legal in previous sources (e.g. Inner Sea World Guide and Inner Sea Gods), so this is just an extension of the existing rules, even if very few legal deities have access. As observed, the separatist cleric is a great option here.

One of the big issues with the gingerbread witch (based on my recollection) was the binding of an unwilling soul into one's cookie poppet. That's an utterly delightful concept—just not appropriate for an organized play setting.

Finally, Gruesome Shapechanger is not legal. Hopefully we are of the same mind that no one should besmirch the trust and assumption of cooperative play upon which the organized play program is founded based on an easily corrected typographic error.

The gobbling up 'children' and having a distended belly was a horrifyingly hilarious mental image. Or giving people cursed Halloween candy.

.

I definitely agree, but sometimes you have to show that rules are broken or OP to get them fixed quickly, or even at all.

Ex. Alter Summoned Mount, Touch Injecting Skinsend, Kraken Throttle insta-kill, Potion Glutton Alchemist, or buying high CR animals early.

Unfortunately, some things get nerfed so hard they become practically useless.

Ex. Jingasa or Boots of the Earth.

.

That being said, I really enjoy organized play a lot, and thank for spending so much time listening to all us gamers.

Oh, and Monstrous Graft (Monster Codex) should prob get a second look. It seems to have an evil feel to it, and being able to change a leg into an arm and Tiefling wings into yet more arms... yeah.
