Rules Questions

So while looking at some things for an old build of mine involving six levels of fighter I noticed these two items: Band of the Stalwart Warrior and Sash of the War Champion . My question is if I had both of them and I had six levels in fighter would that make me count as if I were a level fourteen fighter for my bravery feature or would one of them be nullified and leave me with just being level ten in bravery? What I am asking is would these stack for the purposes of bravery?

I believe they would stack.

I do believe they stack.

Well, glad to see some people think it would stack. Would love to get some more opinions on this, just in case.

I would also rule they stack, mostly because it's not a particularly powerful or dangerous ability to have significantly boosted like that.

They don't stack. Just so I can be contrary.

I'm kidding, of course, I think they stack.

Right, even when combined with Armed Bravery it still not be a horrifying leap in power.

Since I already made a thread asking one thing I might as well ask something else pertaining to the same character. The above question involves a potential build, Fighter 10/ Sentinel of Urgathoa 10 (assuming I could even get to 20). It has to deal with this:

Sentinel Bonus Feats:

Bonus Feat: At 2nd level and again at 7th level, the sentinel gains a bonus feat in addition to those gained from normal advancement. These bonus feats must be selected from those listed as combat feats. Sentinel levels stack with f ighter levels for the purpose of qualifying for feats with a f ighter level prerequisite. If the bonus feat selected requires the sentinel to select a specific weapon for the feat to apply to (such as Greater Weapon Focus), the sentinel must select his deity’s favored weapon.

Would this imply that as a Fighter it would count the Sentinel levels as Fighter levels for all feats with a Fighter level prereqs? Would it allow me to obtain two more instances of the Advanced Weapon Training feat once I met the prereq levels or would this only apply to the two bonus feats I got instead of all feats?

That's... a good question. Technically, you already met the prerequisites, and it's a special criteria you're not meeting; one the class can't help you with since it specifically specifies prerequisites.

Liberty's Edge

RAW it applies to all feats with Fighter level prerequisites

Also RAW it only works for qualifying for feats, not for anything else the feat does

They will both work out of you real fighter level, so they will overlap, nos stack.

If I recall correctly there are a few FAQ on other arguments stating that when you have a magic item that add to your class levels it affect your true level, not not the level modified by other magic items.

I believe Diego is right there, that items work off your real level for their effects.

Technically the paragraph - if quoted correctly - makes only an exception for the listed two bonus feats and no other. There are no implied exceptions in the rules, it is all wysiwyg.

Hm, a pity. On the bright side the most expensive item is no longer needed so I am fine with rolling with the punches. A pity on the feats though, although I didn't really plan for him to have a lot of instances of the Advanced Weapon Training feat (besides Armed Bravery).

I'm revisiting this idea (mostly refining it and possibly using it for my backup in case my inquisitor of Norgorber in Hell's Vengeance somehow dies) and I've asked a couple of people about the language of the bonus feats and the sentence about the fighter levels stacking with sentinel levels and some people seem to think it is for all feats. Would love to hear some more opinions (hat are not just the ones from above, I can understand where they are coming from but am undecided on the wording. This may end up an ask your GM question...
