I'm starting a new Pathfinder game in which the DM is using these feat tax rules: http://theworldissquare.com/feat-taxes-in-pathfinder/
The other members of the party are playing a monster tactician inquisitor, a wizard, and an investigator.
I have set on playing a Cleric. My goal is to be useful with attacks of opportunity while maintaining strong spell-casting. I am thinking about trying a build that looks like this (we start at level 4):
Race: Human
20 point buy
STR: 9
DEX: 14
CON: 14
INT: 13 (for deft maneuvers)
WIS: 18 (15 + 2 racial + 1 at level 4)
CHA: 11 (I plan on using channels out of combat, not in)
Domains: Travel & Luck
All Favored class bonuses into HP.
Weapon: Masterwork Fauchard (The gods are different in this DM's game, he said I may pick any one weapon as my deity's favored weapon)
Armor: Breastplate, Agile (Total AC is 18 with 35 HP)
Traits:
Focused Mind
Reactionary
Feats:
(Human) Channel Smite (Prereq for guided hand)
(Free) Reach Spell
(1) Guided Hand (WIS to hit with Fauchard)
(3) Combat Reflexes
--Start at level 4--
(5) Deft Maneuvers
?
?
?
The other build I was considering was using an elven branched spear (reach, dex to hit, +2 to hit on AOO) with high dex, but I wasn't sure how viable tripping with a non-trip reach weapon is?
So I'm wondering
A) How can the first build be proved
and/or
B) How viable is a trip build that uses a reach, non-trip weapon?
Thanks!
